Im sure everybody who sell shoes have seen this, and they don't let u list that certain item because of that limit. |

It could just mean that they've limited the # of auctions of nike shoes you can list, or put a ceiling on the $ of listings you can put up.
They also usually ask you to provide proof of authenticity to have the limit removed...so provide that and list unrestricted! :) |
| Jeepers | 09-06-2007 01:08 AM | the limits i had at one time were only restricted on a weekly basis, that means that i could only do like a dozen in a week of that type. |
| imjustme | 09-29-2007 03:08 PM | "Selling Limits" what's this? I just had this message pop up when I tried to list an item: Quote:
Attention Seller:
In order to maintain a safe trading environment, selling limits are occasionally placed on accounts. At this time, you are not able to list this item.
We sincerely value you as a member of our trading community and look forward to a continued successful relationship.
| I admit, I listed and sold about 40 items in the first 14 days of a new account. Will they automatically lift this limit after feedback starts coming in from people that receive their items? Or is the account perma-screwed? :o |
| imjustme | 09-29-2007 03:14 PM | By the way, I have about $95 in fees on my account from those sales. Is it possible it's limited until I pay that invoice? I don't want to pay the invoice and still have the account limited, of course :D |
| Chris Hanson | 09-29-2007 03:15 PM | do a search , this topic has been discussed many many times |
| imjustme | 09-29-2007 03:22 PM | Yeah, I searched for it. I saw some people mentioning that a linked PayPal account will get them their limits lifted, though I have a PayPal account linked to it since the first day already.
Just wondering if I need to contact them or just wait a few days. I noticed some eBay users are receiving notices, similar to mine, asking them to contact T&S. But mine says nothing about that, so I'm assuming it's not so severe ... |
| Chris Hanson | 09-29-2007 03:23 PM | it usually gets removed within a few days until feedback gets up..
and never never ever contact ebay for anything |
| imjustme | 09-29-2007 03:38 PM | Thanks. Yeah, I was afraid of contacting them. My phone number is real, but the rest is not. I sold about 25 items and got 2 positive feedbacks so far. Listed 4 more items today, then tried to list another 3 a few hours later and got that message. I sold stuff for $2000+ though, maybe that's why I got limited too. we'll see if they lift it. |
| coopster72 | 09-29-2007 05:27 PM | This happens to my accounts for using certian brand names. For instance. I can only have 12 auctions going with the word "Microsoft" in them. If I try to list the 13th concurrent auction, that same error message pops up. I can list "MS" and it's fine. Even if the only word in the title is Microsoft Ebay will stop me from listing it, if it's the 13th one. I've contacted Ebay about it (sorry Chris) and they said I have not been a seller long enough to lift the restriction. At the time I was at about 3 weeks since I opened the selling account. The Ebay account was over 30 days though. I'm going to wait about a week or two and contact them again about removing the limitation. I don't have a problem contacting Ebay. I'm just some normal seller with questions and expectations. The items I sell are not a big threat, nor high dollar. So my rules may differ from some. |
| powerbid | 09-29-2007 10:54 PM | pay the fees and everything will be back to normal.. the new accounts have strict controls.. my personal advice donot go mad listing items start slowly and pick up |

| spike1 | 09-30-2007 01:51 AM | i would recommend laying off a little with that account. their attention has been drawn to that account. probably because of the brand names i agree/ |
| imjustme | 09-30-2007 02:11 AM | I just tried to list on the account again and it seems they only limited me from selling one specific item. Any other items I can list without problems. I did list this specific item a few days ago under my store as multiple items (10 pieces), so it's possible this counts as one listing each, 10 total and that's why I can't sell more? I'm wondering if I remove the store listings it will let me auction again... |
| spike1 | 09-30-2007 02:21 AM | try this:
list them at 7 day auction (or buy it now, just 7 days). do not list in the correct category, don't use the correct photos, description or title.
at the last 3 days edit the listings. change the title, photo and description. ie: if you are selling a handbag, list it as a backpack, don't even add a photo. then change it to "women's purse blah blah blah" change the photo and description. DO NOT CHANGE THE CATEGORY. most people search by title anyway. price it too high for a bid, you can change the opening bid later.
might work. i have SEEN this done before. all depends on how closely they are watching you.
store listings: as long as they are not on to you, you should be able to list as many as you want. try to auction them first then relist as store inventory, that should take those item numbers under the radar. |
| imjustme | 09-30-2007 03:33 AM | I might give that a try. On another update, they just allowed me to list one of the items. When I tried to list one more, again I got the seller limit message. I guess it's 1 per day for these now. All other items list without problems. |
| spike1 | 09-30-2007 03:36 AM | STOP MESSING WITH IT UNLESS YOU ARE READY TO RIGHT OFF THAT ACCOUNT. or try what i mentioned earlier. i think they might be on to you pretty tuff though, but as long as they let you list something it's not 100% yet |
| spike1 | 09-30-2007 04:48 AM | god i HATE your photo. it reminds me of something i can not narrow down. |
| imjustme | 09-30-2007 05:04 AM | i call it "Mr. Bean meets Hitler" :D |
| powerbid | 09-30-2007 06:02 AM | spike is right.. donot play around with ebay.. otherwise u will be booted without knowing why |
| spike1 | 09-30-2007 06:07 AM | Dr. phil after a crack binge man, i'm sorry | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 01:37 PM. | |
