Using your phone to tether, dangerous or safe?

I know ebay wants to see that you log in from the same IP address every time (for the most part), I know that phone tethering gives a new IP address every time you use it, but is this not a red flag for them to see that you're always logging in with a different IP address?….Thanks.:help:

Its not always as far as I am aware.

Its when you turn your phone off or when you put it in airplane mode.

However it is safe, many people on forum use dongles and everytime they log on its a new ip address

It's known as a safe & good working method BUT you need to keep track of used IP's so that you won't use the same IP to login into two different accounts in case the dongle or the phone tethering gives you an IP you have already used.

There is an Excel sheet shared on an old thread on the forum which could help you keeping track of your used IP's

An alternative would be using VPN which will assure you a static IP, so you can forget about IP tracking.

It's up to you and how you prefer to operate :thumb:

Using a different IP isn't a big issue, it's using the same IP across two or more accounts that makes it a concern. You'll have to use a spreadsheet to track the different IPs between accounts to make sure you don't use the same IP.

To conclude, Tethering is perfectly fine.
