If the EIN was only for an eBay account (and not for anything else in the future), then probably best to close up the EIN, but granted if you got it using your SSN, you will not get a new EIN because only one EIN is connected to a specific SSN

Which is why if you set up EIN, if you planning on having more than one, you have to pay through the teeth, but better to go LLC or S-Corp

Use it for other business aspects. Such as to hold you bank accounts for other stealth accounts and file taxes under a more lucrative entity...or Amazon, barnes and noble, groupon, merchant accounts, loans, etc....
