How to ban zero feedback bidders on Ebay?
 

How can I ban all zero feedback bidders from bidding on Ebay, is there an option under seller settings or something to do this?

You can't ban bidders with zero feedback, only -1 or less.

You set it up under "buyer requirements".

Also, you can watch those 0 FBs bidding on your items and see where else they are bidding and how many times. If they are currently biding on another 20 items or so in the same or similar category, than you can block them..at least that's what I do. It is very painful when someone with 0 FB wins $1500 item and never pays for it.

On the other hand, it may be an honest new person to Ebay with best intentions, and if you see they are bidding only few items, they are usually OK to leave them alone. I will ask in my auction for 0 FB to contact me first before bidding on my auction... Good or bad ones, they almost never do.

Do you guys put "immediate payment req" for your BINS?

WHich is to counter those stalkers? And if you do, do you get less sales because of it?

BINs is an option that I found helpful too. Also, "PayPal Required" in your seller account settings will eliminate most of them, as most don't have PP liked to such Ebay IDs. Nothing is bullet proof, but all those little things ad up to help you your auctions be paid for at the end.

Here_we go again told me actually that using Paypal req instead of immediate payment opens up other problems. So ... I wonder what that might nbe

HWGA knowsmuch more than I do, so I would than hold off on it until I find out what these "other problems are" and see if they are significant to your situation...I'd like to know too what they are, since that is how I set it up and don't want to find out the hard way...

I dont think you should ban zero they are often great buyers actually, Ive always had trouble from big feedbackers myself. Private buyer , now they are really bad usually - avoid them, not sure if you can, I personally would refuse to sell to them, they can neg you or scam you and ebay allows this.

I use the paypal required to limit buyers because since everyone nowadays needs paypal, it helps in the new signups just bidding to screw you. I dont know if this hurts sales...

Re, zero FBs, I just check their current bidding which tells me a lot. You can do that once they placed the bid on your auction. I too had some that paid right away, but than I also had some who never paid. Those are the ones I am after........Got to check them out..

True GreenBean, but this are general things everyone needs to deal with when using PayPal as method of payment. As you know, sometimes you must use PP if selling in certain categories and there is no way around it.

The question here is if checking in your sellers settings "PayPal Required" (for the buyer) makes things worse for the seller in some ways or not? On the plus side, I would agree it reduces the number of 0 FB sellers who just want to bid to screw you up. Just not sure if this opens "another can of worms" for the seller that I may not be aware of....

In other words, as a seller I have to use PP as only possible method of payment on particular items as per Ebay rules. Now, am I making things worse for me in already bad situation by also indicating "PayPal Required" under action price item or not? I think this is what some of us are not clear about......

Lyda, I was answering saiijin's query. Paypal was mentioned in his thread about a stalker.For some reason saiijin seems unaware of these.

Where a seller is 'forced' to have paypal, I think that it is important to be as efficient as possible. In other words, paypal account required, immediate payment etc puts the seller in control. In a well presented listing where everything is outlined, it works both ways especially in 'clothing categories'.

Mmmm, here is an idea for those $1000+ items. Make it a requirement for a buyer to have ID Verify. Literally write this requirement at the very top. It's similar to I will not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, PR.

Then if they don't comply, you can legally refuse to sell to them. In fact, it is a plus to have a backdoor on every auction, such that you can refuse to sell to anyone you don't like.

Paypal account required... in my catagory, I think this is the only method I'm allowed to use. So for using that instead of immediate payment required, is this going to cause me some troubles like the limitations, etc?

I have been having the same problem, and the only solution I know of is to just watch who bids on my listings, and to put a "No Bidders with Zero Feedback" in my item descriptions.

Saijin, see GreenBean's post above. If you are already in the group "forced" to take only PayPal for certain items, than yes, go ahead and check your settings into "PP required" without fear. Also watching who is bidding, specially if they are 0 FB can help you spot who is really new and who is just bidding to screw you up.

I list my auction through Auctiva, so Immediate Payment Required is not available there and can't use it if list with Austiva.
Technically, I think you can use IPR in auction format or BIN, and still have your Ebay Settings checked to "Paypal Account Required".. Somebody correct me please if I am wrong..but, I don't see anything in here that would give you some kind of limitation from PP because of it.
