You can, just don't do it too much or it could be seen as feedback manipulation

Sure you can but it means nothing for a selling account.....OR you could sell stuff and get real selling feedback *mind blown* http://www.minimatemultiverse.com/up...ult_splode.gif

EBay will see right through that and you could sabotage your own account by doing so. Take MM78's advice and sell a bunch of cheap items ( you can get them from any dollar store) to get real feedback.

I disagree. It may not get limits improved etc. But buying a few items before you register as a seller is a good way to start of an account and look like a legitimate member. Been using that strategy for almost 8 years now. I don't go crazy maybe 3-5 items over a month. Get a few feedback then I start selling slowly.

If you have a brand new stealth account how long should you really wait before selling low end items ?
I have heard all sorts of different theory's but I have just made 2 account just the other day and I am eager to sell just don't want to blow my cover!!

I do it with .99 items just to get over 10 positive fb. I just don't do more than 3 or 4 in a few days and never had an issue. In my experience maybe 60% of buyers will even leave feedback and that's after a personal request. So anything that raises your fb number helps in my experience.

I like to bid and browse for a few weeks before sales but that's my approach - and paypal is verified.

Re: Buying cheap items for feedback

I've always just slowly jumped into selling. I'll watch a few items and do a few searches so I look somewhat legit, then start listings items and hope for the best. I've had two accounts suspended for moving too quickly but that's out of about 30. I don't really have time to baby my new accounts so I hope for the best and replace if necessary.

I used to do it, but I figured out that it doesn't make real difference. The best thing is to start selling cheap items (after building browsing history) and gather selling feedback instead.

NB: If buying 10+ items in a short period (to get yellow star) eBay knows what you are doing. In my previous experiences I noticed that accounts with "bought" feedback, after creating listings it took about 24h to be visible to the public. But on accounts with 0 feedback listing was live in a matter of minutes - This was my personal remark/experience and may depend on eBay country-

Sell slowly some cheap, low-risk items if your account is new. Think about the long run.
