Have stealth account want to change ebay to buisness, what are the benfits?
 

Hey,

I have a stelth acount that I have built up and ebay have said I am a top rated seller and if i upgrade to buisness i will be able to show the badge.

What are the other benfits?

and is there any negatives bearing in mind its a stealth account? ( like do they ask for more details like tax etc?

and do I then also have to change the paypal to buisness or can i keep personal.

Hope someone can help me out and would be much appricated

You can get a FVF discount

Fee on business v personal eBay accounts are different. Sometimes it works out cheaper other times it doesn't. eBay have a calculator to work it out if you have a quick look on google for it

You do get opted into the managed returns though which can be a PITA sometimes

Benefits are, savings on fees, better search ranking, Complying with the law, Greater increases in selling limits etc

Negatives, it's compulsory returns for change of mind, lots of hoops to jump through to get the 10% saving on fees etc

You can keep the paypal personal :)

You can do if you want to yes.

I personally run most my PayPal accounts as ST business accounts though, I much prefer the interface

Thanks for youre help guys, just last thing needs clearing up, will they contact me more and ask me for more details if i change to buisness, or is it just a simple as clicking chaage to buisness account. Just want to be sure before changing because am aware that you cant change account back so want to be sure. Thanks

as for the negtives being having to offer compulsory returns, isnt this only with the listing you wish to display the top rated seller badge on, but you can still sell as normal without the badge and not offer return?

As a business seller it's UK law to offer change of mind returns on all items. It affects all listings, not just too rated seller ones.

All online UK business have to offer returns within a certain period of purchase. That is just UK law and nothing to do with eBay

eBay does force you into managed returns though
