Aspkin, for the sake of the thread and community, what makes it no good? I'm not so into moralizing the topic, but rather understanding what are the risks associated with the tactic that might provide some factual basis to dissuade others.

Your child becoming liable for all the tax would be 1st thing that comes to mind

What if things go wrong and the account gets locked? They can then never use eBay or PayPal in their own name

Its also totally unnecessary

My #1 goal right now is building my own commerce site so I don't have to muck with these animals anymore.

Also your able to build a strong account by using an EIN, so theres no need to even do that extra work trying to get someone to hand over their info.

my stealth accounts where i use an EIN are way stronger and have higher limits than my original account where i used my SS# and real address info.
