FIOS IP change
 

I've been stealthing for awhile now by following the guide.

For IP, I've been using the hotspot option from my phone. This part has been annoying, since it's not as fast and you have to keep an eye on the usage.

Well, now I discovered that my FIOS router allows me to go into settings and change IP. Indeed, this new IP shows up under IPBURGER. Anyone use this? Any considerations here? Seems a little too easy.

I don't see what the problem is, if you can change the IP easily....then use it.

You may be the first person to report getting a new IP using FIOS. Are you using the FIOS router?

Yes. I followed this procedure, from a Fios forum:

1. log into the router
2. go to "My network"
3. Click on "network connections" on the left hand side
4. Click on "broadband connecion"
a. Ethernet if you have ethernet internet
b. coax if you have coax internet
5. Click on "settings"
6. find "DHCP LEASE" and click release, then renew
7. Enjoy new IP address

That is crazy.

FIOS in my area is 100% fiber to the router and is not changeable at all without calling into Verizon and having a box reset and even then 50/50% chance.

Never knew FIOS could be anything but pure fiber.

Only question is can eBay/Amazon id us through some router info other than the IP. For whatever reason, I feel like I've seen that mentioned somewhere. Need to go back to the guides and review.

Not at all.

Amazon can identify you from your PC but not from your Router. Usually some significant changes or Virtiual machines like VM ware are needed to be able tio use the same PC with amazon.

Hm, that's very good news. Will save me a ton of hassle. Hopefully someone else here too.
