Bit weird, nearly new account limits question..
 

Hey guys,

I have an account that is on the 10 items limit. This is an account I set up to run alongside my other 3 purely for experimentation to try stuff out on. So, I won't get my knickers in a twist if it goes down.

Anyway, I've listed/sold 3 items this month and went to list some more stuff yesterday and the limits info said I could still list 8 items - this was weird as I had listed 3 already which takes it over the 10 items limit.

So, yesterday I've listed 2 BIN's each with 4 QTY which have now been up 24 hours.

BUT, this morning my limit info still says I have sold 2 and can list 8 so I up the QTY on one of the BIN's to see what happens and up the listing goes, taking me over my 10 items limit for sure.

So, if anyone reading this is not baffled by bingbongs what with all the numbers - is this normal? A glitch? What will happen? Any advice / thoughts appreciated :)

Sometimes if the price/dollar amount of your item doesn't exceed a certain amount they will give you an extra slots(s) to list items. I have had the same thing happen before. I had a 5/500 account I sold 1 type of item on each of the 5 slots for $80 on that account. sense it was under a certain net/gross amount, they gave me a 6th slot. (I Now a have 6/600 limit). Im not sure why they do this... but they do so take advantage of it!!

• When you list an item, sell it, and for whatever reason cancel the sale, you get that 1 back in your selling allowance for that month.

• Sometimes eBay is glitchy, and you can go over the limit, but after a few hours or so they will remove that listing as it goes over your listing allowance.

• In your case with the numbers, just sounds like another eBay glitch.

With regards to what Nyco said, in the 10 years I have sold on eBay UK, I have never had this happen, so it may be a US thing. I have also sold items ranging from 99p to £500+, never did I get that priviledge.

Must be a glitch then as I have not cancelled any sales.

Both listings have now been on 10 QTY for 2 days now.

My selling limit is still 10. Weird!

I had an account have a 10 item limit but I ended up selling 50 items at £35 each in a month. Was just a glitch, returned to its normal limit at the reset date. :mad2:

Update. A couple of days ago I got an email from PP saying they need more info relating to payments into my account, or withdrawals. There was only about 6 incoming payments, all from EB auctions, and never any withdrawal from PP.

Whether it is related or not I do not know, but the EB account is still in good standing albeit with all listings now removed since I cannot use the attached PP.

PP asking for ID, bank statement, proof of address etc.

If I find myself in this situation again I will not go above my limits, unless anyone can shed any light on why my PP may have been limited.

Just like mine thanks for the link Cool Master.. nothing from paypal though, but its not a business account.. dont know if that makes any difference
