heart sink when you sell?

odd thread I know, and it might just be me, as I can be odd......

I was getting sales and my heart sank for particular products, you should be happy if you sell something right?

well, these things were usually bulky, needed courier etc....

I have dropped problem products before, particulaly electronics that got more complaints or returns, never touch clothing apart from my own cast-offs too due to hassle, but for some reason I was still stocking stuff that I found annoying to sell or store, stuff like furniture, breakables ....

so I have sold the last of these and will not reorder, some I gave away to charity as I do not want to sell.......very liberating...........

I just want to sell stuff that is easy, sells well and does not get complaints....

lesson learned......

My heart is in my mouth every sale. Specially with ebay and paypal involved.

I know the feeling.

I have 20+ plates that I acquired for free which will sell for between £30-£100 each but I just haven't got round to listing them yet. I know packing and delivering them will be a massive headache so keep putting it off.

Re: lesson learned..

Since I sell "one-offs" (means items I have only one of)

I learned long ago not to list big, bulky or odd shaped items that I don't have the correct shipping box for.

There were times if took me a couple of hours to fab one so I could get the shipment out in a timely manner.

yes odd shaped boxes, cut by myself, all taped up, look like I wrapped a dog, and weird looks from post office staff.

same as you, I was buying vintage lots, pictures in frames, plates, all a hassle and sometimes they do not sell for ages- I store in an outhouse and some spiders are in a box at the back, cos I saw a massive one flash across in to it and I am scared of touching it to see exactly what is in it to de-list, so if something sells from that box then.........I will have to call one of you to help me out......

I will still buy vintage and antique but go for mid to small size and metals are good - vintage trays and candlesticks go really well.....

I have had these in past many times... Onetime I bought a stock of Coca-Cola Branded mini fridges. They were new $50 and fetched much higher. Pain in the butt and pain t ship, but kept thinking about the profit and it made me feel better. LOL
