Default new IP protocol?

I tethered through my iphone today, and usually I see an IP address such as this: 169.41.12.123.

Now I get something like this: 1609:fc90:2547:3f6e:3d36:1409:cb78:c7e9

It shows up as this on both IPBurger and another IP checked I sometimes use, so it's probably not a fluke.

I'm thinking this is related to the new 1pv6 protocol, and that we should treat it just like we did the old IP address rules, no duplicates, etc, but I wanted to know if anybody has seen this and if it's a problem?

just use whoer.net instead of IPBurger. whoer.net will give you the ipv4.

Is there any reason not to use IPV6?

Yes and no. eBay/Paypal is IPv4 only, as long as you check your IPV4 address before going on the website, it's fine.

You can check your IPV4 address using a website like this:

What is my IPv6 Address?

The title of the site is misleading, but it does check ipv4 only.
