I just cancelled all my remaining FBM listings, but when I did FBM it took like 5 - 10 minutes to process an order. Had to go print the packing slip, print a shipping label, then go find the item and get it ready. And the worst part is I actually had to ship stuff on a regular basis since I can't tell the customer oh I don't feel like shipping this week, I'll get you next week.
I would say on average every box I ship to FBA has 30 or 40 items, so I'm basically processing 30 or 40 orders at a time when I ship stuff. Whereas a self fulfilled merchant might be able to process 100 - 200 orders a day, I can ship 5000 items in 1 day, then sip mojitos down in the bahamas for the rest of the month while the money rolls in, lol.
Unfortunately for your business, outside fulfillment isn't really an option for you since you're dealing with a bunch of random 1 off items. 3rd party fulfillment is only good when you're sending in entire cases of the same item.
