Can buyer email ebay to remove negatives using the reason:

"Left wrong feedback for wrong seller"

Than just say in the field, "not planning to leave any feedback anymore even for the other seller"


Will the eBay feedback dept actually say ok and remove the negative or is it most likely not?


*revisions can only be done 5 times a year and I don't wanna use it for something stupid like this buyer who misunderstood*

No ebay will not remove the negative for that reason. Ebay will advise you to use the Feedback revision procedure. http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAP...edbackInitiate That is the reason why Ebay brought it back.

I even tried getting Ebay to remove a Neutral that a buyer left me that was meant for another seller. Both the Buyer and I contacted ebay to remove it and they replied back to just use the follow-up comment http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAP...ewFeedbackLeft

But you can only do this 5 times per 1000 feedback right? SO even if the buyer screwed up, it'll be one of my 5 revision credits?

I am a powerseller and I just went over my 1000 feedback and I have currently have 9 Feedback revision because I used one already. Apparently it carried over if you don't use them. That stack up like AT&T Rollover Minutes.23423

Boomer, you sure even if the buyer asks eBay to remove it due to wrong feedback left, eBay won't do a thing?

They will send you this message like the one they sent me.

"From: eBay Customer Support Expires: Apr-14-09
Dear BooMer,

Thank you for writing eBay in regard to a neutral feedback you received
from "Buyer User ID".

We can remove Feedback if it's abusive or meets any of our other
conditions for removal. Unfortunately, this one doesn't.

I recommend you post a factual and professional reply to the comment.
Your response will show up directly underneath the original Feedback.
This way, other members will be able to see your side of the story.

I also did the Feedback revision with the Buyer to remove the neutral he gave me and the Idiot buyer Changed his comment and still left a neutral. I guess he is not going to get a new item or his money back now. I think I was lucky that he didn't change it to a negative.

If you do the Feedback Revision just make sure that the buyer is clear that you are asking for a positive feedback.

I really wouldn't recommend buying something from someone and leaving them a negative after they have left you a negative unless you use a completely different account with different Ip, cookies, and everything. Otherwise you will almost guaranteed get abusing Ebay.

Yes, Ebay is pretty smart. They will see he left you a negative and right after you bought something from him and you left him a negative. There was a thread on this recently.

I would say its probably best to just take the negative from him and move on. If someone did that to me, I would want to leave them negative in return also. If you decide on doing that make sure you use a different user account, ip and different info on paypal and ebay.

here is one way to get the feedback removed. I sell relatively cheap items ($10 with a nice mark up, so I can eat the costs ofthis method easily. For expensive stuff this way doesn't make sense.

You can go into into paypal and refund the entire amount.
-In a day or so it will show up back in your awaiting payments as unpaid.
- then file a unpaid item on this.
- 8 days later if no response from buyer, claim the ebay FVF fee back and poof! the neg disappears.

The catch is getting the buyer not to dispute the unpaid. If the buyer is an ebay noob there are a bunch things you say to get him to let it pass. Also, some people just don't check ebay messages so this is worth it for a try. (money excepted)

I have done it this way a few times. Works great with Noobs and people who won't answer your emails.

This method has already been discussed as well. You are likely to get suspended for abusing ebay for trying that. Ebay is a lot smarter then you think. Paypal can see you refunded them, it doesn't just go away in your account history.

Ebay will suspend you for almost anything on the drop of a hat so I don't see the worry.

Lol. That's very true. But why do something that you can almost be positive you will get you suspended for.:D

I don't believe it takes a complaint to get your account flagged or suspended. You can do what you want, Im just trying to help others that don't want to loose an account all because they tried to get rid of a negative feedback.

I remember I had a buyer leave me negative feedback and I basically got pissed and left him negative feedback as well. We be both agreed to have both remarked removed from our accounts. I somehow contacted eBay (cant remember how but sure I can figure it out again) and they both were eventually removed by ebay. Some kind of mutual statement we both have to agree too. eBay says as long as both parties agree, they will remove it. However, this was years ago, I'm sure the rules have changed since then.
