Did ebay just buy my item?
 

So I have a year old account that is starting to sell higher priced items and today after slightly adjusting one of my items that was listed incorrectly so it wasn't receiving views, instantly received 15+ views (it had 5 after 2 days) and then was bought. It wasn't even priced that well. This happened 1 minute after I revised it.

The payment was from "ebay-payments dept." The ebay account has 3k buyer feedback with no seller feedback.

I only sell quality as described genuine items so this shouldn't be a problem.

Could be just a pretender with the username ....depends on address being shipped to as well

Sounds bogus. I've sold to Ebay several times and it never says "Ebay-payments dept" in the transaction details. It will usually say something like "###### @ Ebay"

If you don't mind contacting eb.ay then why not just directly ask them? If it's not eb.ay they may not be too happy that someone is posing as an eb.ay representative.

It just looks like it is someone username.

Could just be some company's internal name. i.e. That's the PayPal account they use for payments rather than sales. Plenty of companies source stock/materials on eBay. Hard to say without address etc.

Really? Ebay sometimes buys items? Why? What types of items? Is it like a sample of an item, or a security thing, or what....? I never heard of this before.

Meaningless.

I have email accounts that are Amazon@xxxxx.com to run amazon accounts from. I could easily see a business that buys from ebay naming their ebay payment account that.

You've sold to Ebay? What type of item, were they testing you out, or do you think they were the actual end user?

Well I found this all odd that as soon as I change my listing my item was instantly bought even though it wasn't even priced very well or unique. Another thing that is odd is the account has 3k buyer feedback but has only left 4 feedback in 2 years.

The other part that is odd is I changed my ship from address on my account for this first time to an address that is closer to my real one and the buyer account just so happens to be in the same city.
