If it is bad to buy 1cent items, what about selling them?

Hey,
Well I'm not selling 1 cent items, more like 99cent items with free shipping. Is that bad to boost feedback, I've got about 15 FB's today i want to get it up aroudn 100.. then I'll stop :) atleast I say i will but you know this has become like a game for me lol anyway, is selling 99 cent items bad?

With my experience in the .99 cent catagory by selling sports cards, and especially since you have less then 100 FB, I would only sell 15 items per week and I would most certainly NOT recommend any more than 20 items. Ebay will catch on and OFF you go!:attention:
Before I even knew of Aspkins Forum or Stealth book, I practiced this selling and buying technique. Just be very patient....
It works, but only if you start out slow, since you are "NEW" to them. After about 200 FB or so I went full throttle all the way to 2000 before selling VERO, which I knew nothing about....so needless to say...here I am!:D

You can still buy & sell 1cent items for feedback, you just have to know how to do it (trial and error). Make sure you've got a few feedback first 5-10 before you sell them and don't mention feedback in any messages and of course not in the listing.
People will disagree with me, but that's the way I do it and it works fine

Right now, I'm getting about 30 a day (from buyers) i'm going to bring the account up to about 100FB then stop (few days from now). This is kinda a test.. if it works GREAT, i'll know what works if not i will try again and go a lil slower :)

How did you get it upto 2000FB, it seems the max per day I can get will be about 60 or so.

boondoggle 05-26-2009 11:06 PM

Well that's a lot faster than I go, I don't see the point in going that high. I usually stop after around 30-40 fb received over 3-4 days. Getting up to a few hundred fb this way would be over the top and expensive just to get an account rolling.
Its also a good way to get rid of the negs on the first page of feedback

This is very true. I should prolly stop now. Really, I don't have any point in keeping it going... it was just something I want to do, but you do make a valid point, there is no reason to keep it going. I can do buy it now, dutch, and store.. there is nothing else to "unlock" so to speak

It's not really costing me much though. 3 cents per auction.

I think I will just stop this one, and move on to the next one :) lol, always good to have fresh accounts sitting around with 50+ feedback :)

I think it's important to get upto 100 feedback, for the 31 day hold as well. I just did a lil research and it appears that with more then 100 feedback, atleast 20 4.5 DSR and great FB you should be good..

I have 62 FB as of right now, so about 1.5 days i should b to 100 :) then i'll stop

waterproof 05-27-2009 02:12 PM

You can do it either way you would like and it works, I'm only saying not to take things so fast because it will raise flags with the Bay.
My account began before all of this new Ebay "" came along, especially the 21 day hold. I had a lot of repeat customers and sold a lot of sports memorabilia. At times I had 200 auctions per week up for bid, but at the time you could only receive 1 feedback per member, and unlike now, you can get FB from the same member once a week to really beef up FB. I was selling a lot, but a lot to the same customers.

I think i set a new record for myself, over 100 FB in 4 days! lol i'm going to stop the FB farming process now though and move on to the next account.

Digital goods are outlawed, but the service categories are alive and kicking.

I think they're called business services--I had the link to the category somewhere but it's burried in lots of text files.

What kinds items are best to sell to build quick feedback for 1 cent?

waterproof 05-29-2009 10:16 PM

Very Good with the FB! Although you are confident, just be carefull!:juggle:

Sell things that fit in with your stock! Sports cards with sports memorabilia sounds great. If you sell collectables of any kind you are on a winner here with the small cheapies. Same with jewellery. If you sell electronics what about sim cards. You just need to be a bit creative. But I would not put up too many things for only a few cents.

Depends on whether you are talking about selling to "real" buyers or other like minded peeps who want some good quality fb quick. You cant rely on "real" buyers to give you 5 star fb but you can rely on a partner who wants it back from you.

What to bear in mind is that a transaction is a transaction be it for 99 cents or 99 dollars. The participants still have the same right to leave fb. You just need to be sensible as other posters have pointed out and not go it it too hard. Keep it to say about 20 spread over a week and you will soon have 100 good quality fb and stering DSRs. Then keep it going just to bolster your DSRs against the odd nasty buyer who leaves you all 1s.
