EB FB - leave it for buyers b4 they leave it for you?

I have approx 130 transactions that buyers have not left feedback for me yet.
(past 5 weeks or so)

think I should go ahead and leave them feedback before they leave some for me?

thoughts?

preciate it.

Hiya,

I always leave feedback first. This is more out of personal choice than anything else.

I do, however know a couple of people who have received negative feedback from their buyers because they had not left feedback first, but on the other hand i have also seen some listings where the seller has explicitly stated that they will only leave feedback for the buyer after feedback has been received.

I've tried both ways and the response has more or less been the same.

I think either way the buyer feedback response rate is only about 50% (own personal exprience), unless the buyer is trying to build their own feedback in which case they tend to leave feedback pretty sharpish.

Just my thoughts

I'll give you the worst answer ever, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Everyone is different, and Ebay buyers are among the moodiest, most idiotic people that have ever walked the earth.

These folks are not in front of the computer everyday, so even if they are happy, they will get to it when they get to it. They don't realize how important it is for the seller.

I, personally, always leave feedback first, as a seller. Simply because (firstly) the buyers part of the transaction is pretty much over once they make payment. And (secondly) because I've found that saying something nice about someone generally makes them want to return the favor.

Funny thing... since my eBay account was suspended a couple weeks ago, some buyers were unable to leave feedbackafter receiving their items. Today I received a 'thinking of you' card and letter by snail mail from a buyer, thanking me and giving me 5 star feedback on paper! Certainly made me smle!

I generally just wait a while till they leave feedback and I send them messages through ebay saying if your happy, please leave positive feedback.

Maybe I am just cynical at this point, but since the time sellers can ONLY leave pos fb , I no longer bother leaving any at all, and I rarely got a buyer who was bothered much. The odd one wrote asking me to leave fb, and so I did.

the funny thing was, the odd times I needed a fb boost, I did leave fb for those buyers who as yet left none but who I knew must have received their item, OR I also contacted some to say, " noticed you have not left fb, just writing to confirm you have received your item and that you are happy with your purchase"

whenever I did this it came back to bite me with a neutr over some idiotic reason, or a pos with one dsr ding

so I have given up on that - **** it

just my personal experiences.

the fb system as it is set up, is like a badly dysfunctional relationship , and designed to make it hard for sellers to get their discount at best

True that Jem. Very bad on eBay for sellers not to eb able to leave negative feedback of their own - or special class of feedback.

say I have 35fb all 5 star.
say only 10 are from me selling and the other 25 are from me buying.

does it matter to eb?
is fb fb regardless if it is from buying or selling?

It DOES Matter to Ebay,,,If you have some sort of Problem with a Buyer,,,The feedback they will Look at is Your Seller Feedback,,Not your Overall,,,Also Internally, Ebay considers Neutral Feedback as a Negative Buying Experience,,,

As for this Threads Topic,,,I Always try to Time Leaving Feedback with the Arrival of the Product,,,When the Buyer first gets the Product there is Always a Sense of Relief and/or Happiness,,and when they open their E-Mail and see the Ebay Notice that they got Feedback,,they Tend to Respond Better and are in My Experience more apt to be more Positive,,,

Just my Obseverations over the Years,,,

That's a good idea, slapped.
I usually do the postage notification and feedback once I get back from the post office. I might leave it a day or 3 now.
What gets up my nose is buyers that pay in their own sweet time when the listing states within 3 days or 5 days. I'm still waiting for payment for an item that sold over 3 weeks ago. And once they do finally pay, leaving positive feedback is the last thing I want to do, but I feel I have no choice. GGRRRRRR And if you do make reference to their very late payment, what will you get in return, a big fat neg or neutral.

I wonder if ebay's new seller protection for feedback and claims will be any good.
