Revising Feedback

I had several buyers leave bad feedback simply because they werent happy. 2 people because they didnt read the auction, if they had they would have understood wht they got. They never even bothered to Contact me!!! errrrrrrr..... Why do people do this? The ad was correct and they just didnt understand wht they were buying and these people wont even respond to your request to contact them. Wht should I do???? My revision request already expired

The other Low Stars I had were from the Holidays and slow shipping. I literally emailed each person a custom message daily and tracked each one daily and communicated very well, and like 8 people still left Low Stars.

Wht can a seller do to avoid Low stars when I did nothing wrong?

Also can a Buyer change the Star Rating once they have left it?

Buyers can revise the feedback left and also the DSRs. The seller sends a feedback revision request (5 available per 1000 feedback). This option is available in the Feedback Forum (link is usually at the bottom of most EBay pages).

Don't send unless you've resolved the issues and the buyer agrees to change feedback beforehand.

sounds like the issue may be related to the quality of the item itself
sometimes this will lead the customer to leave low DSRs all round

sounds like you have a problem with either the item you sell of the way you describe it if people don't like it there is a reason for it. Give us the part of the ad they most complain about and i bet people on here will tell you for sure what is wrong with it.

P.S. hiding vital iformation at the bottom of the listing usually does it, not all scroll all the way down.

Well first of all I dont have one product in particular. I would buy things at garage sales and thrift stores and sell them. So its always different. One lady left bad feedback because she said no one reads the detailed description. She and others she said only read the title, which I created wasnt very detailed. She must be on something because who would buy something without reading the details?????

Another lady bought a new hair dryer that only blew cold air which I described in detail and she left bad feedback that it didnt blow out hot. Duh it wasnt for that I explained to her. She wouldnt even respond to my contact attempts. The other issues I had was with usps being delayed during Xmas time. They even lost several pkgs. I had to refund the Buyers. I went well beyond being concerned for these people and they still gave my low dsr on ship time. I dont think some people realize when rating ship time, its to rate seller performance not what happened to their pkg which is beyond a sellers control in some cases. This is why I have decided to take a month & half break from selling to regroup and learn new tricks.

Im almost inclined to say forget selling used stuff, its a headache and takes soooo much work for $3- $15 profit. I mean I worked for 2 months with a new baby until 3 am each night and still had to do night feedings and up by 7 am.

Thats why I am in this Forum to learn and hope to give back as I have done so far. And at some point do sometype of Wholesale or Dropship would be nice. :)

Just how long have you been using ebay?

You are seriously misunderstanding the psyche of the buyer (s).

Seller is always wrong unless they can convince the buyer they are not.

:nono: used items are risky. Buyers are known to not pay attention to 'details'. If your listings are long-winded buyers will not read. It does not appeal to them.

A New hair dryer that blows only cold air will be regarded as damaged.

What's your scores on these accounts that you are going to chase after buyers for revision?
Seriously think you are wasting your time. :spy:

You do have to look at it as time vs. amount of profit.

GreenBean 02-15-2012 04:57 PM

@rsot,

I would suggest if one's quota of feedback revsion is all used up, too much time has been wasted to make any profit.

That first revision request should set the alarm bells off that the business plan needs to be re-done :pout:

baloch 02-16-2012 11:02 AM

yea I learned as well to keep my listing in point form and short with lots of spaces so it is not a big blob of text.

rsot 02-16-2012 11:13 AM

Good point GB - revising the business model. If the OP wants a buyer to revise, the Revise Feedback request is available for a max of 3 times per account.

soopadudette 02-17-2012 06:24 AM

If you had stated that the hairdryer only blew cold air in the listing, try talking nicely to ebay.

If they can see that the listing clearly stated this, and the buyer didn't read it properly, leaving neg feedback complaining that it didn't produce hot hair, they may remove it.
