Selling gift cards on eBay?
 

To gain some seller feedback on new accounts, do you think that selling gift cards is ok? Yes, I would actually ship them. And I'd take a small loss just to get the quick sale & most importantly, the feedback.

What are you thoughts on selling these? Risky? Does eBay not like gift cards?

Gift cards are OK provided the listing is clearly defined/stated and is OK to sell.

Be careful of what you choose. Lots of phake gift cards exist. ebay dislikes them a lot.

Look at coupons as well.

Ship only in North America. Avoid international.

Ideally, have a variety of items to sell.

Also be aware that depending on how you sell them, there are category limits for gift cards so dont expect a lot of feedback from this option based on the age of your account.

Yeah I thought I saw someone say that you can only sell 1 gift card every 7 days, however I think this is untrue or is no longer such a strict limit since I see other sellers selling several at once.

Just a thought. Still deciding on if & how I'd sell them. Thanks for both answers

Why bother with giftcards? They are more likely to raise eyebrows. Just sell some data cables or something

How do they raise flags to eBay?

Often gift cards are not kosher.

Sellers have been known to attempt to sell them when there is no right of re-sale.

Grrrrrrr. Gonna have to stick with selling these bracelets then. I give these ungrateful buyers the best deal on eBay for them and they're not even leaving feedback -.-

On a related note, gift cards are an excellent way to cash out!

Hi,just a side note.
It's not always the seller who tries to get over.
I've sold lowes and home depot cards before.
I photocopied the back of the card before I shipped it.
Buyer files PayPal claim says a 500 dollar gift cards empty.
I immediately called lowes co,they verified funds are avail.
On another occasion,buyer tried stupid stuff.
I had tracking that showed pkg delivered on the 25th, the charges were all on the 26th.
Buyer empties card,then files with pp.
I won on both cases.
Lately,
If I take a bunch of leftover gifts/ junk back and get a gift card.
I know it will bring about 90percent of face value.
I sell only to buyers with over 100 fb,and buyers who also sell, so I could buy from them
And give them tit for tat.
Just sayin...

How is it possible you only sell to people with 100 feedbacks or less? Unless you check the auction 5 mins. before ending and cancel all bids from users under 100 feedbacks?
