Chasing after feedback: good or bad idea?

Hi,

Just shot a note to 4 guys who had recently bought stuff from me on a stealth (-) account. I asked them to leave FB if they were satisfied, and let me know if they are not. I left them glowing FBs.

Just wondering how FB versus sales will matter when it comes to getting an account stronger with bigger limits.

I hote to fish for FB becasue they might slam me. Maybe not. But if they didnt leave it already, is it worth the risk?

Seller feedback is very important for account growth.

A polite e-mail reminder shouldnt cause too much troubles...really depends on the buyer...tough to predict /shrug

I'm gonna' slightly disagree....I don't think positive feedback helps account limits grow, but I will sure agree than anything negative ie. neutral or negative feedback, bad DSR's etc. will hurt account growth/limits. I never really care if buyer leave me pos, as long as they don't leave neg. Under the new system, no feedback is good feedback, so to speak, so it wouldn't bother me if I never got another feedback.

Seller feedback IS important.

on eBay buyers WILL most likely leave feedback. The problem is when you ask for it, some times you get some of those who hate you for it and either don't leave a feedback or leave you a bad one.
It's like soliciting... I'm sure you don't like it, do you?

My advice is ship quick and ship a quality item. That'll get you the feedback you want. \
Try to not bug people for feedback.

My feedback prompt:

Hi, I hope you are enjoying your item. I would greatly appreciate it if you could leave me 5-star feedback for this transaction. I strive to bring the fastest shipping and most accurate listings, along with the best customer service to all of my customers. If there are any problems with your item or you think I don't deserve a 5 star rating for any of the categories, please contact me so I can resolve any issues. Hope to hear from you soon via feedback! Thanks again and take care.

Take the time to print out a small note to include with your item once sold.

A small note that happens to 'flutter out' of the package once they open it tends to go over well.

People do not usually read invoices so large sheets are not used by myself.

Actually Positive feedback gained quickly IE...15-20 Positive reviews Will land you in ebays automated lift system. Meaning you'll go from the 10-1000 limit to the 100-5000 Limit once you have around or about 20 reviews. I've done it for 25 accounts already and every time I hit 15-20 positive reviews all of a sudden my limit is lifted as well as my pp limit so I don't have to wait for the 21 day hold anymore =] I've done this successfully with 25 accounts of mine going on 26 accounts today. You must find a ninche that sells quick, but not to quick... Over the course of the 20 reviews took me 4 months. I took it slow and steady and started all the accounts at the same time. All my account now are aged with over 40 positive reviews and no negatives. I will now do this for my foreign ebay and pp accounts and go from there. =} Not only that but with each package I send out I send out a flyer that says leave me positive feedback as this is the only way I support my family. If something is wroung with your order please contact me before opening a case so i can fix the issue. along those lines... then I leave a business card with my website on it and a coupon code for $5.00 off anything on my online store. This way I lead the traffic from my ebay orders to my site, and now generate not only traffic but ORDERS without ebay fee's YAY! this all takes time ofcourse. Not only that but Then with the collected emails I've gathred with all my accounts I send Newsletters / Updates on new product I got. This has worked for me for about 1 year now with no problems whats so ever. I create an ebay pp account a day. Now knowing i can use thunderbird to track my emails I am a happy camper.

And for each ebay pp account i create a website for it. this is where OpentCart can be your bestfriend. I use free host as i am cheap and don't want to pay for hosting. But what i do Is I buy a domain name and just forward my free webhost to the domain so it all looks 100% legit. And it's not some type of crap sub domain.

Re: Chasing after feedback: good or bad idea?

I have found by testing many different ways to get people to leave feedback that asking or chasing them for feedback sometimes and turn into a buyer who dont want to be bothered.

I stick a note in each box I send out with some kind words and it seems to have helped me over the last several months.

A note sent with the item is more effective with my sales.

I no longer chase others.

Started that a long time ago.

Results happen.

Thank you note in the package and I move on - chasing indeed is a waste of time

Soo many gems in WillyWonkaMan's post OP. A small gesture of a note in a package can serve as a great reminder.

I think no risk and good idea.

Re: Chasing after feedback: good or bad idea?

Just had a seller message me " I'm waiting for your feedback". .

Do sellers really think that's a good idea?

I responded with " I'm waiting for your product". But I can't imagine a buyer being too thrilled to receive a message like that. I'm too honest and guilt feeling to leave bad feedback, sometimes even for people that deserve it, because as a seller, I know how much it hurts.

Not a smart seller approach OR written message...agree
