| | | nysbestcards | 02-10-2009 05:56 AM | is this a risky way to build feedback? i spend about $10 buying a ton of stuff with free shipping with the auction prices ending no higher then $0.50. most of the items close for about $0.10 or so and i email the sellers not to ship me the items. I get about 40+ feedback in a few days usually after i leave feedback for the sellers first. does anyone else do this? does this create red flags? |
| aspkin | 02-10-2009 05:59 AM | Lot's of red flags, and not worth it.
Read eBay Stealth, just sent it to you.
Welcome to the forums. |
| nysbestcards | 02-10-2009 06:02 AM | thanks for the reply. i guess i won't be doing that anymore. |
| GreenBean | 02-10-2009 06:11 AM | It is seen as Feedback Manipulation. ebay hates it & suspends quicker than I type;) |
| cortex | 02-10-2009 06:14 AM | any suggestions on building feedback quickly?
PS to start a BIN auction does one need to have 10+ feedback from sales or does it not matter what type of feedback its from? eg can I list BINs if I have 10 +ve feedback from purchases? |
| divine422 | 02-10-2009 09:21 AM | Just buy things you need like shipping supplies. Sell basic stuff around the house. And dont quote me on this but i believe once you have 5 feedback with a linked Verified Paypal account you can use the BIN feature. |
| cortex | 02-10-2009 09:52 AM | only 5 FB's and im good to go? thing is sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt...i thought it was 10 .. not too sure |
| yaw1800 | 02-10-2009 10:13 AM | 5 feedback to use BIN
ebay says 30 but my most recent account was able to list in quantity of BIN at 17 FB ..
anyone else had this experience?? |
| GreenBean | 02-10-2009 05:24 PM | Differs a bit btwn USA & UK. Depends on the catergory:p |
| TGMT² | 02-10-2009 07:12 PM | It is a 5 feedback score for listing Buy-It-Now's in the U.S.
But apparently not in the Automotive Parts and Accessories section...
I tried to list a BIN there the other day and they said my score wasn't high enough, I'm pretty sure you need a 10 feedback score for listing there. |
| cortex | 02-11-2009 08:31 AM | I have a backup account with a FB of 23, I can list BINs but I cant use the Best Offer feature. Only 4 or 5 FBs are from sales, the rest are from items i bought. |

Do you also pay the sellers, too?
And are the sellers selling the stuff for feedback or are they going, "oh crap my item sold at a loss" ????
For what divine422 said of selling stuff around the house, this used to be easier eight years ago on eBay, but now stuff usually won't sell unless you use a shill to buy it or else it's something you sell at a huge loss. Or you're selling stuff specifically targetting at sellers who are buying it just to buy feedback. |
| 4rings | 02-11-2009 11:31 AM | One of my Stealths is a Business Account and I listed BIN straight away.
Is it risky opening a Business account straight away instead odd the usual seller account?? |
| cortex | 02-11-2009 11:35 AM | i wonder what type of PP account most people use - personal/premier/business? i usually go for business accounts. maybe i should start a new thread?.. |
| 4rings | 02-11-2009 11:48 AM | I always open Premier!
Im in the process of opeing a Business account with PP for my Webite though, Little nervous, dunno why though. |

| GreenBean | 02-11-2009 05:21 PM | cortex, what would you rather drive, a Audi or a Ford? Go for the best at the start:sly: |
| NO ID | 02-12-2009 08:30 AM | its funny cause i used to sell only to the uk and after 10 feedback i could sell as bin - i stopped selling to the uk and started to sell only to the usa and i could not use the bin feature until i had 5 feedback from usa - weird huh? |

| shankscomp | 02-16-2009 03:45 PM | I had recommended something like this a month or two ago and took a lot of scrutiny from others. I DO NOT suggest doing any feedback manipulation. Buyer's that check the seller's feedback will recognize this too. Good luck and becareful.

| idiotbay | 03-14-2009 07:21 PM | well i after i open a new account, get it linked with a verified paypal account , with 0 feedback i can to BINs , think this is it for UK |
| jbluntz | 06-17-2010 02:02 AM | Most business people go by statistics and not heresay. I've bought lot's of under a dollar items on at least 40 accounts and only 1 got a 30 day suspension for feedback manipulation. Those are your statistics, if listening to heresay sends tingles up your spine then feel free to do that to, I like to lay the facts out so people can make their own choice. Some people like risk, some people like a little risk and some people (like those against buying under a dollar items) don't like any risk at all. If you're one of the latter than you would not want to buy under a dollar items, since as you can see from the numbers it does have a little tiny bit of risk and a painstakenly long 30 day wait. :faint: | | All times are GMT -5.
