Why leave feedback for buyers... for paying????

I can't understand why feedback is suppused to be left for buyers.
I have never seen feedback for buyers on any retail site, or even Craigslist for that matter!!
Also, they don't leave feedback 80% of the time after you take pains to carefully pack and ship quickly.
So....Whats good for the Goose....!!!!!!

Just a remnant of the days when sellers were allowed to leave negative feedback for a buyer to warn other sellers.

These days it's kind of pointless. It's at least reassuring to know you're selling to an experienced buyer.

Geese can be fed exclusively on grass if you have enough of it and it is of sufficient quality. Grass contains all of the vitamins and minerals geese need when it is fresh in the Spring.

You know why leaving feedback for buyers is useful? You can check how many items you sold by doing so. you can check your account under feedback left for others just to see how many you sold, then you can estimate whether or not to login to your PayPal account to withdraw cash.

Just when I was about to say its pointless, you go and make a good point. I never thought of that.

For the people who do mostly auctions, the feedback part is not a good way to tell how many thing you have sold. In my case, it does not work well with me.

I tell by the way my bank account grows or things I ship that day.

Why won't that work well with auctions?

I hadn't ever thought of this as a way to count transactions on a Paypal without a Tax ID attached. But I have to admit it's a good idea. I can't tell you how many times I've logged into Paypal and counted every single transaction to figure out how close I am to being tax limited.

Because for auctions, some people have not paid yet.

Unpaid items don't count towards the 200/$20,000. Right?

I mean I can see your point since most of those buyers will eventually pay. I was just curious about your reasoning..

Did you ever get a feedback from Amazon, Newegg, Staples, or any other retail site for that matter??
Once you add an item to your cart you pay for or you don't get it.
Why are eBay sellers treated a lay-a-way plan? when big box stores do it they act like it's a big deal. At least there is an incentive to pay after you make the first payment.
Auction items should be treat like Buy it Now....not pay if you feel like it.
All transactions should be immediate payment required.
This screws me up good, especially around the holidays when there's no time to re-list.

Well yes it doesnt count since they havent paid. And it not ebay that want your business info for going over the 200/20k rule, its paypal that wants it. They are the payment processor.

Thanks for that tidbit, yotano. Until now I thought Ebay was the payment processor and Paypal was the selling platform.

So anyway, why is counting the feedback you've left for others not a good way to get a transaction count? I'm honestly not getting your point, lol.
