How is this possible?

I oversold an item by 1, so instead of canceling the auction listing and getting charged the 10% early fee (a $50 fee). I decided to send a new invoice with a shipping fee of over $1k when it sold. I have done it before and nobody pays that amount.

This time its different, the buyer hasnt paid yet and somehow opened a item not received case against me and somehow left negative feedback. I dont get it, the buyer did not paid for the item.

How is this possible when there is no payment. I checked paypal for a credit card even a echeck payment, nothing shows up. He says he contacted ebay to see if I can correct the issue but I am not going to correct it.

I can call them to get the negative feedback removed but the account is in a woman's name. I just dont get it how is this possible, its kinda been bugging me for a few days.

Does it show the item as paid for in eBay for that buyer?

If I am reading this correctly, don't you think that by doing so, your customer could eventually get upset seeing shipping fee of over $1k?

In eBay eyes you are the scammer who is trying to get 1K$ from your customer.

Not a very wise workaround in IMHO.

ilcarletto is right about the shipping deal but just fyi, buyer can leave neg feedback at any time - even before payment.

Now, the likelihood that this feedback will stick is low so that should be fine to fix.

Careful on overselling :(

You have to open an unpaid item case, when he does not pay the feedback is removed.

Buyers can leave feedback even if they don't pay for items. They have been able to for quite a while

If you open an unpaid item case then it should get removed.

You would have been a lot better off being totally upfront with the buyer though and telling them you made a mistake and oversold. I would be pretty annoyed if I bought an item and then got sent an invoice for $1,000 shipping without any sort of explanation.

I guess nobody reads anymore.

The buyer did not pay for the item yet, and I cant open a unpaid claim since there is a "item not received" case against that item. I just dont get it.

I know that feedback will be removed if the is a unpaid claim is closed without payment.

Sounds like your only option is calling Ebay to get this sorted out. Of course they will probably frown upon your $1k invoice, but what else can be done in this situation?

I would be careful about overselling and be upfront next time if you oversell.

Call eBay to get this resolved but you might want to have a sister or mother call for you since its in a woman's name.
