Ebay Auto withdrawal from Bank Acct

Does anyone know how long (days) it takes for eBay to automatically withdraw the fees from my bank account? I assume everyone gets the April 30 invoice to pay fees. It has been 15 days and they haven't tried to take them out of my account. This is ok with me if they do take it out of my bank, that would be a lot easier for me anyway. I have the money in each account to cover my fees. But I was going to go ahead and pay them with a gift card to get them paid.

Is there a certain number of days they will to automatically withdraw the money?

Just wanted to see how other handle this. Thanks.

In the past, I've had it take as long as 25 days to autopost fees.

I think Ebay has two monthly billing periods. I wouldn't pay them with your gift card if you have in your Ebay settings that you want the money to be taken out of your account. I had the same situation one time and made payment with my gift card two days before it was due, ad they still debited my account on the due date, so I actually paid twice... You will get a credit after you call them or send them an email and point out to what happened....but why go through this pain?

Well I definately do not want to pay twice. But I did not know there was a setting that you can have them take the money straight out of your account. I think eBay will just take it out anyway if you dont pay, if it is linked to your ebay account.

Lyda 05-15-2009 11:44 AM

The setting is/was where you choose how you going to pay for your Ebat seller fees and if you check PayPal that should go from your PayPal or checking account. In Paypal settings you check your checking as second source of funding if there is not enough balance in PP to cover. Let's say your Ebay fees this moth are 64.00 and you have only around 35.00 in your PayPal. What would happen, when Ebay charge your PayPal for fees, they would take 35.00 from PP bringing it to 0 balance, and the rest would be from the checking account.

Better to control the fees by paying them yourself with a gift card. Like vic said, ebay can be inconsistent, Lyda said her fees were taken x2. Do it yourself, there's one less drama.:peace:

Lyda 05-15-2009 07:09 PM

Yea, I still have it checked Paypal and not vcc because I would have to keep track of my Ebay fees.. just being lazy, knowing I am covered when the time come to pay my fees.
This never happened to me to be billed twice before. So now, weather I have enough in my PayPal or not, I just leave it alone...No more paying my fees before they are due.

oompaloompa 05-16-2009 10:33 AM

can they be taken out twice if using automatic paypal method.

Ive got so many accounts I wouldnt notice if it was, I just know I pay a hell of a lot in fees.....

In my experience the auto payment option is not advisable.
WHY would you want to link your eBay account to a bank account and then give them access to remove money from it?
The safest way to pay your Stealth account fees is to do it via gift card (Visa M/C).

If you are running Stealth eBay accounts in name BOB SMITH and you tie them to a Bank Account with your real name on it......
Do this once or twice and you might get away with it.
But when eBay pulls money from your account that payment is attached to the name on your bank account.

Can you spell LINKED ACCOUNTS??????

This is NOT a safe Stealth Practice and is not advisable in Stealth Mode.

And if your account goes NARU then they still have a way to collect their fees.
Your BANK ACCOUNT.

oompaloompa 05-17-2009 05:21 AM

Oh I agree with you.

One thing I didnt think of though was if you dont have a paypal balance and they pull money out from your bank, they get your real name, but of course that makes sense. I wonder if they routinely check that out, I mean unless its distinctive, it wouldnt necessarily link to NARU, Id be curious if their rules say bank account has to be in your registered name, I mean you could be using a family members, or if same first name but different surname, for a woman is explainable.

What was that about not being able to spell, I hope that wasnt addressed to me!

Im a slightly different scenario;
I do the gift card method on the ones attached to UK banks but I have a number of foreign paypals that have no bank attached and I get the money out different ways. So my gift card money is real money, the money in these paypals is a hassle to get out, and it suits me to pay fees by reducing this balance...

GreenBean 05-17-2009 05:49 AM

^^^Not a spelling lesson, just HWGA saying think of LINKED ACCOUNTS:eek:
Anyone operating in stealth mode is best to control what info ebay/paypal is
privy to, so why involve a bank account in a real name:faint:

oompaloompa 05-17-2009 06:24 AM

If you load your paypal from your bank account, same issue then, depends on bank. I checked with one of my banks just now and they said it doesnt have your name on it by default, you put in reference to pay someone, and if it is taken out by paypal, eg. they take fees, just a reference number, no name.

I doubt that is for all banks though....

I agree though, do not link pp to a bank account.

GreenBean 05-17-2009 06:54 AM

^^^That's the whole point. Don't use a bank account, a paypal account to pay fees. Be as stealth as possible which is why a vcc or gift card is tops:peace:

Lyda 05-17-2009 07:37 AM

The only reason I was doing it is my name on my bank accounts is in business name, so even though it's Stealth everything, the name and all other info is matched, so I don't worry much about linking. But yes, I agree, it's still better not have them access to any bank accounts cause if something goes wrong, and they put my account in negative, the bank will be after me to cover, not my business. Specially now that Ebay will be automatically refunding buyers on any complaints.
I am thinking about changing this, but not sure if this will raise any red flags with Ebay...

Yea, but you have to link a bank account in order to transfer your money out of your paypal account. Unless you have a paypal debit card.

Lyda 05-18-2009 04:30 PM

They wouldnt never even give you pp debit card if you didn't have verified checking account on file, I think..

yes, true but that is to transfer out, the issue we are discussing is when you paypal fees from balance and you havent enough, then it switches to taking it direct from your bank. In doing so it could get your real name as a reference along with payment.

If you insist on paying with balance, you could check with bank to see how they reference it or do an experiment yourself by doing a bank to bank direct debit and see what shows up, as I said, I called my bank out of curiousity and they said no name just reference number went out unless i expressly put a name when manually sending a payment online.

Anyway, I only set up automatic payments from balance when a bank isnt attached to paypal.

Lyda 05-22-2009 03:54 PM

Well, like you all say, it makes sense not to allow Ebay to get into your bank account and have gift card to pay the fees. So, should I get reloadable vcc or get new one each month? I wouldn't want my vcc cards for more than $20 each...

GreenBean 05-22-2009 06:26 PM

This is just a fyi: see what happens when paypal/ebay have access to YOUR banking details. Think about keeping matters as 'clean' as possible.
Since there are options to pay the fees with a vcc, do it.:peace:

The only thing I am unclear about is the amount on vcc. I wouldn't want to buy $500 worth of Ebay fees ahead of time.. which I guess leaves me with extra work of adding a vcc every month in the amount of my Ebay fees? Is that what everyone's doing?

lakeman 05-22-2009 07:43 PM

Lyda, I think the best way is to buy a prepaid for $200 or whatever price, and use the one time payment button every time the fees are due until the card runs out.

Lyda 05-22-2009 08:02 PM

Thanks Lakeman, this answers my question.
