Hey CH, So? did they link you or what?

When is best time to pay ebay fees?

I always wandered about this one... EB fees are on a monthly cycle. lets say, you get your EB Invoice notice, and it says that the invoice is generated on the 15th of the month, for x/15-y/15 period. So, as most of us would do to keep a good usable SELLER account alive (fear of suspension for not paying EB fees), we would use MAKE A ONE TIME PAYMENT method to clear the fees. so.. here are the questions:

1) I have used an old PP account that was associated with a suspended EB account to make the one time payment on a newly registered account using new ip, etc.. seems no problem as long as you dont log in using the old suspended email address from the old account (which you should change and delete off your pp account asap anyways). can other members confirm this? should this be an area of concern in the future?

2) when is the best time to make the ONE TIME payment,? before the invoice (ie, 14th of the month) or right after we get the invoice ? as most of us have the account set up to pay seller fees using VCC with very low limit (usualy $25), it obviously is not enough to pay for the fees generated in one month, if the EB system automatically charges the full amount of the monthly invoice to the VCC. The purpose of this exercise is to figure out exactly how to have the EB billing system NOT charge the VCC, and to keep account in good standing...

i have read your posts in this regard, but i find most lacking critical details. such as exactly how much do you pay each time as a "token" payment? and in terms of percentage to your invoice?

exactly when do you make these payments after you see the invoice? do you pay the previous invoice amount or something?

and as i would image, most of us want to prolong the life of each account. how long do you think one can safely do this bill pay avoidance safely?

thanks modee for the clarification.

hey, if one VCC gets declined on a large payment charge by EB, do they require you to update to a new card?

Van Player 09-21-2007 08:09 PM

yeah, i noticed that each time.. it goes to arriba.eb.xxx or something. however, if you pay attention, that site is a sub-domain of eb.. may be a eb entity. lets not forget how big and rich eb is...

It's all ebay in one form, name or another. Don't fool yourself.

HI- someone pls tell me if this makes sense.. I have had 2 ebay accts suspended, 1- new less than 30 days the other was over 2 yrs old, the same day I paid off the ebay fees. Coincidence? NOw, my new/new acct is like 35 days old, owe them, $700+. i I USED to pay every other day on my Power seller acct,.as the fees were over $5k/month, so i wouldnt get behind. Now this new/new acct- i have made no attempt to pay yet, as i got the invoice this week or last.... still up, I am almost afraid to pay it off....

Sometimes it depends if they bill you early and it isnt much for what your making, pay as little as posible. Do the math is it worth it the way your going now on tihs account paying those fee's? Or is it worth it to make a new one. Math!!!!! ^^

i can't describe how to find it exactly, but I skip over using paypal to pay with a credit card and look for the link that takes me to "make a one-time payment with another payment method"

On that link you enter the credit card directly to ebay without going through the paypal process.

spike1 09-24-2007 12:22 AM

i guess it's:

"don't pay them unless you really want to keep that particular account open and running for a long time"??

DogFacedBoy 09-25-2007 11:21 PM

How long does it take eBay fees paid with money order to post?

I sent eBay a money order early last week and it has yet to be credited to my account. It should have been delivered to eBay by Friday the latest. How long does it usually take to post to your account?

ebaykilla 09-27-2007 09:48 AM

hello....any answers? Bueler? Bueler? Bueler?

x2ruff4u 09-27-2007 10:18 AM

When paying by check or money order:

* Always write your eBay invoice number and User ID on the front of your check or money order.
* Always send your check or money order to the address shown on the payment coupon. Sending it to any other address will delay processing.
* Check and money order payments take 7 to 10 business days to process and post to your account.
* Your check information must match your account information (no third-party checks).
* Checks or money orders drawn on foreign banks must include an additional $10.00 to cover bank fees.
* Returned checks are subject to a $15.00 service charge.
* If you are signed up for automatic monthly payments, be sure to mail your check or money order for the full amount owed at least 10 days prior to your invoice date. This will ensure that you are not charged twice.

Would be nice to use if we actually paid are fees

koalawash 11-07-2007 01:03 AM

LOL well when I did it it took faster than I expected. (of course it was kind of a pain following all their anal guidelines, but not a really big deal) It actually took just about 2 business days from when I MAILED out the thing.. needless to say I was pleasantly surprised.
