New Ebay Fees

What's the skinny on the new eBay fees, is it true that they are charging FVF on the shipping as well.??

rsot 04-28-2011 02:44 PM

Yes it would be true.

jeffweico 04-28-2011 02:56 PM

Yes. At the same time they are also lowering the FVF percentage. For example, it used to be 15% for media, now it will be 13%.

All in all, for fixed price listings, sellers should come out OK. The ones who will pay a lot more are those sellers who sell cheap items that are bulky (bubble mailers, for example) or those who always listed an item for $0.05 with a $19.95 "shipping & handling" charge.

Sorry, but I have no sympathy for the latter.

It seems that it is quite unfair to the good ebayer who don't sell "media", if media sellers are the only ones that benefit, since most media is downloadable, no shipping charges.
I have friends who will find a $15000.00 increase in their costs based on last years sales, & no way to get it back other than charging more for the products.

Charging for shipping is like being expected to tip the waiter on the total bill including taxes at the restaurant, I only pay on the food served, he didn't serve taxes.

Actually, ALL of the categories are being lowered. I just used Media as an example. For eBay media encompasses, books, movies, video games, CD's, records, etc. A downloadable product should NOT carry any type of a shipping charge anyway, since nothing is shipped.
