O/S sellers fees sent to collections!

Sold Items on Ebay.
Seller Fees: $62.33
My credit card got stolen so I cancelled it and got a new one. So the credit card number that ebay and paypal have is my old one.
Ebay account suspended.
Sent to collection agency (IC systems)
IC systems has called me this morning, I told them I don't know whats going on and just asked for their information and said Bye.

I shall not pay, because **** ebay (and IC systems for that matter)

Also... I dont understand this selling business on ebay. I pay to put my ad on ebay. Then once I get paid by the buyer and withdraw the money I get charged as well... and then I get charged... again by ebay for seller fees? huh?

That's the playing field - you play their game or get off the field. Sorry - it's just the way it is

Welcome to the forums. Info is in your real name and address?

jeffweico 06-01-2011 02:36 PM

eBay charges an upfront listing fee.

Then, PayPal charges their fee for the payment processing which they take off of the payment.

Then, eBay chrges you the "final value fee" which accumulates and is due monthly.

And, man, do those fees add up FAST!

BiN4RY 06-01-2011 02:41 PM

I agree with jeffweico. The eBay/Paypal's combined fee amount is becoming way too expensive.

Bathalameau_III 06-01-2011 06:24 PM

Yes I have my real name and address on ebay.
any way around this sham?

KingRay 06-01-2011 09:03 PM

Its expensive but still waaaaaay cheaper than a Brick-Mortar shop.

My folks have a small shop and they say paypal is cheap compared to their CC machine fees. They have a monthly fee as well as a transaction charge AND fees to a certain percentage. Then you have utility bills, rent, etc.

It is what it is. we all have to live with it. As I said before on a recent post, LIVE it up now because if you think fees are high now see what you have to say in 5-10yrs. IF ebay is still around. you will be talking about those good old days back in 2010 or 2011. lol

Oh yeah, there's a really GREAT way around the sham.

Pay the money. You made a contract with ebay. That be their rules.

FFS, it's $62 stinking dollars and you want a mark on your credit file do you?

Think things out more carefully.

Moaning like that for a trivial amount is pointless.:pop2:

card stolen, account suspended? More info if you want help....sounds weird

GrannyT 06-02-2011 01:43 PM

I'm not as sharp as GB with my words but I have to say - she hits the button.

EB and PP are s***s. We know that. If you are going to do business at least start honest and pay your dues. I don't know your situation - and I don't need to - but if you made a contract with me I would expect you to keep it.

Not what you want to hear I know - but there it is

Wow at the OP having a problem understanding how eBay fees work.

This business about eBay fees needs to stop. Be specific about certain fees instead of any/all fees outright!

Oh and nobody should use stealth for EVIL!

I agree, way too expensive!

Aren't they making enough profit?

GrannyT 07-08-2011 10:58 AM

It's very simple - if you think their fees are too high, if you think they are not value for money and if you think they are wrong to charge what they do - don't list on their site.

Then they will know wont they? Except that millions of other people do not agree with you and see it as a cost effective way of doing business. It's just the way it is.

$60 ruining your credit for life isnt worth it in my opinion. Especially, since it is money you actually owe them. I am not trying to sound like a jerk, but so many people complain about ebay, amazon, fee, etc., then why are you even in this business?

GreenBean 10-02-2011 02:22 AM

2 post wonder.
