I owe a small amount around £20 on one of my old ebay accounts, i got a call today requesting the money, if i dont pay it whats the worst that could happen?

Hi, is the account in your own name or stealth?

rsot 07-16-2012 11:21 AM

Is the account in good standing? Odd question.

What will happen is a van will pull up outside your house. You will know it's the right one as it will have Ebay collections written on the side

4 big man will come to your door, grab you, throw you in the back of the van and then, using pliers, will pull all of your fingernails out one by one.

After that you will be given 48 hours to pay with the threat that they will be back

I would pay it if I were you

If its permanently suspended tell them to come and collect your finger nails

(They wont do anything for £20)

Don't believe GrannyT? Here's how it would go down!

I would not make such suggestion. I have known people in the past for being referred to collection agencies for not paying their fees that is a bit less than $50.

It is a sad fact of life that in the UK if you persue anyone who owes unsecured money and it's for less than £1000 you are likely to finish up out of pocket.

Even the banks no longer aggresively persue unsecured debtors of less than £1000

It's all very softly softly and hope you will pay. For the amount the OP is talking about they wont even send a letter

Morally? - between you and your priest.
Consequences? - drying up of unsecured credit

Stop with this OR start adding imggo. (in my grey goose opinion)

ebay UK is pursuing debts. paypal UK is pursuing debts.

To date have had claims for a total of £61 for 3 ebays account. It is happening more now

Judged on what the OP described someone may be pursuing your supposedly miserly debt.
You can dislike this all you like and have your opinion. Times are changing. Your opinion may need revision.

ebay/paypal are looking for outstanding debts.

Just pay it and worry less. If 20 quids is a heavy amount for you...well...not much more to say.

they_screwed_me_too 07-19-2012 06:49 AM

morally you maybe should pay

really if you ignore it you wont ever have to

i know how eb/pp work on this from both ends of the rope
