 ebay keeps charging higher fees
My friend opened an ebay basic store but he keeps getting charged the same old final value fees. Without store, the FVF is 9%. With the store it should be 7% on the first $50, then 4.5% for the rest. He sold some items and the FVF is still 9%. He must have called ebay at least 10 times during the past month and a half, and spends at least 30 minutes to an hour on the phone each time trying to explain that the fees are wrong. At the end they finally admit they are charging the wrong fees, promise to credit the difference, but nothing ever happens. He calls back and has to go through the whole spiel again, even talking to supervisors, they promise they will fix it, but nothing happens. The fees are over $1000 now but it should be about half that.
What the hell else can he do? Messages to customer service go unanswered and calling them only seems to waste A LOT of time.
