Accounts linked, asking to pay overdue fees to increase limits on other- what do i do

So i have a relatively new account, ive been building up for a few months now.
Done quite a few transactions and im getting to that point to get the limits increased heavily,

So i call ebay today to have limits increased, but, somehow, they have managed to link a previous account, which has a limitation on it, and has overdue fees bill too.
I carried on talking to him and told him its "my friends" account that has the overdue bill. He says that he cant do anything until the fees are paid, i tried explaining its not me, but he said that ebay classes it as 1 business, but he understood its not my account.
So the chap from the selling limits dept. says to me, ask your "friend" to make the payment on his account, and we can have your limits increased after that. Hes a very nice chap, but now im a predicament, do i pay the fees? Maybe theyll limit my account too after ive paid the fees. The fees are alot, but theres even more stuck in the liked paypal so natuarally i left it after it went down.

I called them again a few times today, and i tried to confirm that my account wont be in jeopardy if the accounts are linked, or my limits will be definitely increased after payment is made. They said in one way 'yes'
You can never trust them though, what do i do?????

Just want to add, its a legitimate business that im running, that operated from 6000 sqft warehouse, so my ebay account/s are VERY important to me, as they make up alot of business. Nothing counterfeit or VERO at all on these accounts, fully VAT registered and tax paying business.

That pretty much answers the question. If you want to continue, you're going to have to play by their rules, which means paying the fees.

Otherwise, I would consult an attorney if you think they can't prove it's you. Maybe pay to get an attorney to write a letter, it's worth a shot.

I know what I would do and it starts with a S, ends with a H, and has the color Teal in the middle.

Ends with a H or a T???

Hence the advice to never call into ebay. :nono:

ebay/paypal had an expectation of your paying fees. When you agreed to their T&S, payment of fees was the implied deal. They liked the idea of the money as much as you love your account.

You need to work out how to resolve the issue. Countless phone calls will do no good. You will flag your account. Then some p' off staffer will limit you.

Be careful of what you do.

:peace:

Sincere opinion is that you pay your fees since you DID make sales. Will that reinstate the account? Quite likely not since you have been linked to your "friend's" account. Really is time to go stealth.

You've said how important your Ebay accounts are to you, surely its worth paying and being a bit more careful next time?

Pay your fees and see what happens.

Some get the accounts back and some do not.

Work on having stealth accounts up and running.

Pay your fees and if your account is still limited talk to ebay via live chat.
Live chat seems to be much better than the phone. Always be nice. If you cone across rude they will not help you.

Re: Accounts linked, asking to pay overdue fees to increase limits on other- what do

I am not going to tell you whether or not to pay the fees. That's your moral compass. But my experience tells me you are NOT going to get your account back. Once you are linked you are linked. They are going tell you anything to get their $$. Right now eb-pp has kept a little more than $1k the last year from suspended pp accts. that I will never see again. Not to mention the $1100 I paid to have my 13 YO with over 400+FB 100% account reinstated. 1st they told me it would be immediate then 72 hrs., then it will never be reinstated. All that for a buyer that cancelled an hour after buying got immediate refund and still complained about authenticity when I offered the Nike Town receipt as proof. I wish you luck.
