paying ebay fees: I'm a little confused

Hi there I'm a little confused about paying eBay fee's I know there's threads on this iv been reading but people seem to do them in different ways.

The way I have always done them is just pay them using the one time payment method through PayPal? Is this still ok with a stealth account?

Why don't you just leave enough money in PayPal and set the payment to go via your PayPal?

As long as your paying your fees on time and it's working without any restrictions than just keep it going, there are many ways to pay fees, just follow stealth principals and if you feel the way your paying now works stick with it.

This is perfectly okay to do.

I pay my fees weekly with one-time payments from Paypal. It has never caused any issues in 5 years.

it is o.k to do but remember, if there is not enough funds in PP at the time, then it will try get it from the bank which will in turn show the real name of the bank account holder to PP

Shouldn't happen but best to know this if you don't already.

do'h my mistake, one time payment is fine all the time, thought the op meant automatic .

Can be done BUT..... why on earth give paypal the OK to 'touch' your monies?

Read the below thread for a working alternative.

Why do I say working? Because it allows the stealth account holder to control what paypal does in regards to touching paypal balances.

Pay the fees in advance with a VCC - keep it simple and smooth - you can even pay multiple times

Never an issue in letting paypal take their fees, ever!

Good for you.

Keep your business to yourself.

Plenty of nosey people will try to pry.

Actually the rules just got changed...

no longer OK to pry into what people sell.

You made a good choice there.

Just use one time payment method.

Re: paying ebay fees: I'm a little confused

I always pay with my paypal balance. If i'm going to withdraw my money I will see how much I need to pay eBay, pay it, withdraw the rest apart from 2 sales worth of £ just in case of refunds. I do this once a week at least, usually more often. I don't take huge amounts out like £500, but 100-200 a time.

I prefer paying before the fees are due...with a CC rather than PP balance.

Re: paying ebay fees: I'm a little confused

Probably a really stupid question, but if you were to pay on your own card in your own real name on an account, I assume that will flag you?

The only reason I am asking is because of data protection, I am unsure if they are actually allowed to retain the information and look into the card details?

Re: paying ebay fees: I'm a little confused

If the registered address is stealth, then the card would fail the AVS check so the payment would not go though

Why wouldn't you just use a VCC or use PayPal to pay the fees after a sale? Makes life so much simpler. :)

I never bother lifting the £25 limit on vccs. Maybe I should look into that!

Re: paying ebay fees: I'm a little confused

Or just let Ebay take their fees after the sale every month through PayPal directly....I've always done that and works well

Re: paying ebay fees: I'm a little confused

rsot 02-20-2016 07:52 PM

Re: paying ebay fees: I'm a little confused

Every thread sandgnat10....you are suggesting to avoid paying eb fees....not the recommended move.
