Gift Card Arbitrage

Came across various sites/forums where you can buy discounted ebay/walmart cards 25-30% off. Was thinking about arb'ing this scenario by listing random products from a legit ebay seller account. When customers order my "products", I would open a stealth buyer account, order the identical product from another vendor (another ebay seller, or possibly from walmart.com) and reenter my customers shipping address as the final destination. No inventory risk, and very little work required on my end. Sure, I pay 12% ebay seller fees but my profit still comes out to 13-18%.

Surely I'm not the first person who's came up with this idea. Can anyone point holes in my logic where I might run into issues?

Those cards aren’t physical
They are carded, ie. purchased from stolen credit cards
Easy chargebacks

retail arbitrage is rampant on Ebay, you will be shut down once they find out-
definition of retail arbitrage per Ebay-
accepting money from a retail customer on Ebay, use his money to place order with another retailer and ask him to ship .
In your case ,I assume you would be using his money to buy discount giftcards, you are running extra risk as these cards could be fraudulent.

if it sounds too good to be true, then it is.
WMT cards ,you can shop at WMT,why would anyone sell them at steep discount.

There are legit gift cards for sale, not at such a discount, but 5-15%
I apply for a credit card with UAL and spent $3k,I earned enough miles to redeem them with Lowe and end up with 4 LOWE gift cards -$50,$50,$50 and $57(total $207).
Since it costs me nothing,I can sell them at discount on Ebay.
But I need a dishwasher so I used it towards purchase of a dishwasher.
UAL miles can be redeemed for merchant gift cards .

There are some flyers sitting on 6-7 figures of airline miles, with COV19 ,they could redeem these miles for merchant gift cards and sell them on Ebay.

Selling digital items and an especially Amazon gift cards are the quickest way to get banned.

Your plans sound good but in reality, you will not last more than 1week running this operation.

25-30% off gift cards are absolutely illegal. I wouldn't touch them.

The 'legit' sellers of discounted gift cards have to buy in such a high level of bulk that they have to put out six to seven figures to buy enough to get a discount of 7-9% off. They then resell them to other high usage amazon gift card players at 2-4% off. It's a massive investment up front that nets a very good overall profit for just having the money.

Amazon is very strict on gift card resellers, too. You have to have a web presence (giftcard.com) or a brick and mortar presence. They don't sell them to just anyone. I imagine other big vendors have similar restrictions.

FBI also monitors this stuff as it's a prime way to launder money.

I would say that unless you're a high roller with seven figures to play with, stay away.
