Is July 15th the day when MP happens?
 

I've been reading on this forum and it seems that July 15th is the day that MP all starts? Do you think MP will be delayed until next year? Usually companies like to delay things.

Everyone will be required to sign up for MP by July 20th? And if we don't we can't sell on eBay?

This only applies to those who received the invite and from what I understand that was only the heavier sellers.
This by no means impacts everybody. Nowhere near.

Okay, that's what I thought originally. But some people here are saying that everyone will need to switch over by July 15th which got me confused.

I have about 30 stealth accounts, I do not sell on all every months I rotate but of the 30 accounts only 1 got the action required must sign up for MP by July 15th. That account is a personal account in which I sell most months about $1000 worth each months, sometimes I do not list anything.

Not yet, I am waiting until close to 07/15 to do it and will use real info to do it. No more stealth on that account.

If you want to buy a MP compatible account then I imagine you would need to ask an account seller to make a stealth account using your real name and a random address, so that the names will match when you add your own bank account. Or buy an account and then attempt to change the name on it, which is risky but sometimes is ok.

I may be wrong on this, but this is my understanding of it

I heard that when registering for Managed payments what ever information you enter there will force the stealth account to change the details. so essentially you unstealth the account.,

So if you got a invite and it keeps asking you to compete sign up do you think you can carry on selling or will they stop you using PayPal

That is interesting, and makes sense. If you don't mind the question: where did you hear that?

I have a European account that I wanted to make a name change on (with ID card and so on), but they just said "start a new one in the new name". That would suck since I have thousands of feedback.

If they actually force the change when I enter the new managed payments info, then my problem is "solved" (perhaps).

Are we talking about the adyen payment from ebay?
i have my original ebay account and adyen but no paypal do i need to do somethignn?

That is actually correct. Whatever you input into MP registration will be changed in your ebay info. Happened to me.

May I ask specifically what changed? Was it subtle like initial to full name or something like an entire address? Thanks

I actually need to get my entire surname changed. I hope what happened to you applies to me too. If it does not, I will have to think of an alternate solution (like turning it into a business account and starting a company).


I am in the EU, and managed payments seems to take a long time to arrive over here. I think they are using US and UK to test it, or maybe EU data protection laws are making problems for Ebay.

Like I told another seller on here, I think being clever will be a great asset in this new frontier. If they ask and you can give them a plausible excuse for a name change that is difficult or sensitive for them to check, they may let you squeak by.
