Has anyone figured out how to get managed payments using an ein and not a ssn?
 

Paypal always let us use an EIN.

Seems to me like EBAY will allow us to use an EIN. I thought as a US citizen I had a right to protect my SNN by using an EIN as a sole prop. Isn't this why the gov gives us an EIN?

Has anyone kept a stealth account? I need help. It's in my friends name, their address, etc, I just don't think that they will let me use their SSN. Then what? They will get a 1099 from ebay and will have to issue me a 1099? That complicates things.

Anyone know how to get ebay to just take my EIN like normal people?

Many EINS are public data. You can goto your states department of corporations and find tons of them. This is why they ask for the last four or the full SSN also.

EIN will not work for now, maybe they will allow it in the future. The 1099 shows up in your account as a tax document not by physical mail, only if you go over the threshold same as PayPal.

You can take the risk and switch info to your real info if it’s a good account. I have done it without any issues going on about 5 months now.

Any more updates to the OP?

I can no longer use my SSN (old suspension) and just started learning how to set up st**th accounts, only to find out about the mandatory MP and SSN issue. Hoping someone figures a way around having to provide an SSN or that eBay pulls its head out and reverses its decision to screw things up for so many.

Has anyone created a new st**th account/MP in the last month? If so, what are they requiring now if you ask for a business MP? Full SSN or last-4? Are random last-4 working for you?

Ebay never asked for SSN until now because of MP. I had been suspended by Ebay before and switched my stealth to my info and SSN

Have you created multiple PERSONAL accounts with MP and your real ssn and info? Or have they been LLC business ein+ssn accounts?

I haven't created any stealth accounts yet as my last account that was banned (business with EIN) happened just before they started all this MP nonsense. Then I bought the book/course and was about to set out to make a stealth account, and realized they were asking for SSNs. As far as I can tell from this forum, it's back and forth whether they require the last 4 or your whole SSN to make an account. My banned account was business but they have my SSN through PayPal so I'm sure it'll be linked if I give them my SSN.

If it's possible to make a business stealth account with an EIN but NOT provide your SSN, I'll go that route. I'm making bank accounts and getting VCCs even now but I want to know what I'm running into.

I have seen some people post that, while making their account and adding a bank account, it gave them the option to skip their SSN. I'd love to figure out what triggered that. An EIN should be all they actually need as taxes will be routed through that, anyway.

Here's hoping for a more permanent, definite solution.

If you never signed up for MP before, only Paypal has your SSN and not Ebay in that case.

Nope, not possible under MP to just use EIN without SSN unless it's a multi member LLC is what I heard on here.

From what I read on here one theory was they don't just want EIN because those are sometimes public and SSN verifies that you are legit.

It was a matter of time before Ebay did this, after all even Etsy does it.

I am still in the midst of opening a new stealth account, not for fraud or shady ****, but simply because I have lost everything in the past due to ebay closing my account for no reason, and my main account was closed again 2 weeks ago. Even after ssn verification etc. They keep booting good sellers because of a couple late shipments when USPS issues are clearly on the USPS end and not our end....they will lose a ton of sellers

Anyway, I am in the midst of this process. I think it will work. I will let you all know. So far, I have not been asked for ssn or ein, so there is nothing I can do/should do, to speed that process up.

If it's due to late shipments, then you need to figure out how to prevent it.
Things have to be spot on.

Actually this holiday season USPS delayed most FCM mail by two weeks! Its was really bad delays this december,january.
