what happens if they already sent money to your bank then the buyer complains 7 days later? what if the money is not in your bank? will they just make your ebay account negative?

Yes. Either recover that negative bal. from your "available funds" or bill you.

It works just like a merchant account. You have a new balance that eBay can take funds from each day you get sales.

and since they have your ssn now, they legit can take you to collections and ruin you.

Lol. You could just keep your account up to date and not be a thief. Having your eBay debt go to a collections agency isn't going to ruin anybody and you would have to be dumb to let it go that far anyway.

The "communism" narrative is weird in 2021 but I don't see how it really relates to capitalistic ecommerce platforms though. Everyone has been trying to make China out to be an evil communist empire but from the outside looking in they seem a lot more capitalist than the US.

Merchant account provider (bank) can credit fund as well as debit fund from your bank account

They just show a negative balance until your sales pay for it. Had $600 item returned and took several days for sales to cover it.
