How safe is it to create 2 Real MP accounts in your own info?
 

I had my ebay account of 7 years and its been on MP for some time now.

But I'm entirely worried that by creating another ebay MP account under my real info, with just an LLC and EIN added, that it will somehow ban my main account.

I plan on listing stuff in the same exact category just using different generic listing titles.

What made you guys take the risk of getting multiple real MP accounts under same info? You had no concern whatsoever that by getting multiple accounts you wouldn't be suspended entirely by Ebay??

It's always been perfectly fine to have multiple EBay accounts, MP hasn't changed that.
That said, once one goes down, the others most likely will follow just as always.
The key difference these days is that you can't just open other accounts like in the days stealth whereas PayPal accounts could be opened with ⊗⊗⊗⊗ details. So, I think the solution these days is to simply not get suspended. Taking extra care of the accounts, taking care of customers, shipping on time, handling returns, avoiding high risk products is the way to longevity.
One final note, you don't even need an LLC or elaborate scheme to create additional accounts. They still require your real SSN, Name and DOB on business accounts, so the link is there regardless. PayPal is gone, the days of simply using an EIN in place of a SSN are over. True stealth is dead. R.I.P.

Yes I know about that last part. However I heard on here that the way to have multiple MP accounts under same SSN and details, is by having an LLC so that ebay acts as if it's a different entity. That's what Pharz I forgot his proper spelling sort of said.

I'm nervous because I intend on not only having 2 MP accounts under real info but I want to sell in the same exact category.

I did it because I had no choice. I had 3 established American accounts with over 50,000 feedback cumulatively and they were being forced in. I put it off for as long as possible because I was nervous about it too. There was at least 6 months between my MP registrations and on the last account I only did it because they were about to start pulling my listings.

What gives me confidence though is anecdotal evidence from here (which is the best we can hope for at this point) pointing towards eBay treating different tax ID's as different legal entities. I couldn't point you to the thread but there was a post a while ago in which somebody said an eBay rep confirmed that point.

I've had listings pulled on at least 2 of the 3 MP accounts so far. I haven't had any suspensions and I hopefully won't. So far though it's smooth sailing having the same SSN but different EIN's on 3 MP accounts while selling the same line of items.

You might have had an advantage in Ebay's eyes though. The three ebay accounts with 50k ratings were successful and had years of revenue as a good seller, so they may have made an exception. I'm wondering if it's safe to start a 2nd MP account from scratch. I mean I doubt Ebay would can any of your three ebays even finding out they were linked after all these years, since they'd just be destroying a good seller's account(s).

Anyone you hear of having success starting a second or MP account from scratch?

is your main under your SSN or just EIN?

As a person said eBay treats each EIN as a separate business, but to be honest the people working managed payments know maybe 10% of the system. No way of telling if the 2nd account will be linked to the first, but my question is WHY do you want a second account? If the first one is good, then use it. Making a second one will only risk getting both of them getting banned. If the first one is gone, then, yes, work on a second one.

All Ebay MP accounts require SSN especially past any serious threshold. So ya mine is. The reason I want a second is for more listings, and the slight possiblity of the account being treated as separate. If that's the case I could be allowed slightly more email warnings from Ebay. Let me explain what I mean. Every year I get maybe 2 mistaken ebay emails for a listing getting taken down (it's always a mistake on their end or some kind of random reason bs reason). It's rare for me but still.
I've had stealth accounts where on the 3rd random listing getting taken down for some mistake on their end, they suspend the whole account indefinitely.

It's to the point where now I do not list any new items on my ebay once I get two for the year, too afraid it happens again and bam there goes my whole business. It's rare that it happens but it's a concern to possibly expand into two accounts just in case.

The last reason is ya if it's separate that means if one account gets taken down, possibly just possibly they'll keep the other one going. It MAY be a safety measure to sustain my business.

Do you have stealth names on all these accounts? Or prior to you converting did you change the account details to your personal information? This is the only part I find confusion over with your method (which seems to be working for you).

When upgrading to MP, Type in your details then. No need to change anything on the ebay.
