Does eBay check activity when switching to MP?
 

I have a stealth eBay account, where I've been selling high risk items, for a long time.
The account hasn't had any issues because I've followed the stealth rules and built good patterns.
Now I've received the MP register invite.
In this situation I have two options: I could enter my real info in the old stealth account and continue to use it, or make a new eBay account and start fresh.

My worry is that eBay might review the activity and sales history of the stealth account. If they do I'm sure they would suspend it.

So the question is, does eBay check the account's activity when registering to Managed Payments?
Has anyone done this successfully?

I know of a guy who got suspended immediately after being accepted. He had all high risk listings so that's probably why but nobody knows for sure. :noidea:

Stealth or real info, US account ?

I really hope that MP is only verifying the accounts, not messing with other eBay department's business like policy violations, poor account standing etc.

Why wouldn't they? Before any other company starts accepting payments on your behalf they review your business practices to make sure you won't be a liability. Paypal was always the only company who did that AFTER taking money in for you, lol.

Guy I mentioned was upgrading a real CA account. He'd already had a few suspensions on the account prior due to listing takedowns. Right after he got approved for MP they permanently suspended the account.

We would need a lot of time and tests before evntaually resolve the MP puzzle. Pointing the business model/sold items is another potential issue.

It's interesting to me why they didn't suspended him before and did that after completing the MP registration. Manual review, who knows.

because this is leaving the MP registration territory and moves into the risk management territory. Just like on paypal where you get accepted but may be suspended indefinitely anytime later , for example because the turnover got too high or the type of items was considered to be risky

MP is very easy to work with unless you sell things they do not like or have high returns/chargebacks.

i am a private seller my stealth account is in changed name and date of birth my bank account and address is my real details just nicknamed bank account to stealth name and good to go, now with managed payment's do i just change the stealth details to my real details or make a brand new account.

Probably nicknamed his bank account in the bank platform with a name to help remember its use

that is with established accounts , with new accounts they would likely behave similar to paypal

For east Eu countries like Bulgaria, Hungary and Romania you can raise selling limits very fast if you sell low risk items. I would expect mp to work good with stealth accounts.

the problem here is not with limits though but with risk management , higher turnover can easily lead to major verification or indefinite suspension. we have already seen it on paypal on a regular basis where people with completely genuine details were suspended for good just for receiving too much money too quickly

Hello, we all know when we started paypal they wanted SSN and DOB. eBay never even asked for this. now ebay is wanting SSN and DOB when signing up for their new MP. well if paypal did not share with them SSN and DOB with suspended or high risk accounts, i dont think we would have a problem using our real info. correct ?
