This is from a UK perspective

There is increasing anecdotal evidence that Ebay really do not like online banks. High street banks take 'know your customer' rules very seriously and while it is quite straightforward to open an account your information and documents needs to be good.

It is claimed that online banks are not so fussy

With MP Ebay (and Etsy) have finally got to grips with stealth accounts

I can remember the 'slash and burn' guys who were happy to lose a couple of accounts a week because the money they made selling 'foo-foo' and dodgy downloads far exceeded the cost of creating new accounts - those guys have had to find new ways to carry on in business.

A fully operational account used to cost a couple of hundred quid - you would need 5 - 10K now - and that's if you can find one

Online bank accounts wont cut it I'm afraid
