Upgrading a ssn ebay stealth to ein stealth?
 

hey guys quick question

I have someone else's ebay account in their ssn info, but now I want to upgrade it to my EIN llc business, under the settings do I just enter the ein, under business info AND stakeholder info with their name dob and address. Will that work?

Or must I provide ebay their ssn info still under the stakeholder information?

That will not work!!!

Ebay requires a SSN as well as an EIN on the account. Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying.

The SSN info will still be required.
However - once you upgrade it to a business acct there will be no tax impact to that individual. It will all hit the EIN instead.

I just would rather take off their ssn info all together. Is that possible?
I see accounts being sold on here that said when we upgrade to business account all we need is EIN and even for when we upgrade the stakeholder information in settings, we can somehow not put the last 4 of ssn but just put last 4 of EIN according to these sellers. How can that be possible?

If an account has another person's ssn on it and I want to change the info to my EIN number does it matter if it is only a sole proprietorship (me) or does it have to be an s corp with the other person as a stakeholder? In other words can the account have their SSN on it with my EIN?
I want the 1099k to go to me, not the other person. I don't want to deal with the s corp stuff if I don't have to.

This is exactly one of my questions. From what I'm hearing from the 2 sellers it is fine to have their ssn under stakeholder info and your ein as the LLC and for taxes the 1099k will go to the EIN so you and unaffect the ssn person under your account.

However, what I'm also hearing is rumors about when ppl go to upgrade an individual ebay account to business (your ein) it wants ID, or docs and sometimes a ban happens.

Ebay is also going to be getting a lot of people doing identity theft from this method and probably up their security due to this.

I do not think this works at all. Ebay still wants an SSN number. In the stakeholder info section the box reads SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER. However if it transfers to coroporation ebay type you may need to provide docs or something.

SSN is needed. You also indicate the contact person of the company. The only thing is that the company can be registered for any person.

Gotya108 says a 1099k for smLLC requires a matching ssn to generate with IRS that matches the ein. Is that true?
