Random suspensions
 

Hey guys,

Do you know if the suspension wave is over? Tried to create an account that does not have any real details on it (name, dob, address), as they still ask for ID details only after the first sale. Listed first cheap used item, after 2.5 days got suspended. Fresh device for account creation, real phone number, local 4g ip, all cool and as usual. But suddenly banned.

You need real identity info, I think the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ identity days are over because of the new 1099k reporting. I used your exact same method. Mobile data, real number.

I’ve created 3 successful selling accounts last week no issues yet after getting the first sale on all 3. One of them I created with no cookies or cache. Straight to the selling account creation.

I could be wrong, but I don't think there is a such thing as "random suspension." You're most likely doing something that is just not working with the new managed payments system. Rest assured, though, these are new waters that we are all navigating.

None of the MP details are the same. They can not be the same or you’ll asking for trouble

I mean that random details are used only when creating a new account. Once ebay asks for ID details - all the details are changed to the real ones. However, in this case it never came to that point - suspension just came 2 days after the first listing. I've created many accounts the same way and it was all good. But this one suddenly got banned.

So when you make the listing, you skip both the ssn, dob and the bank until item sales? And you still get banned?

Could be the phone number you’re using. I was getting message we couldn’t verify your identity please contact us when I was using Textfree numbers until I switched to Verizon everything is fine

Not in US, so not talking about SSN. Bank is not attached either. Phone number is real local sim card, ip is regular 4g mobile local internet, device is real, not emulator or vps. First item is 1 dollar cheap unbranded used crap.

I still get them as well.

With the testing I am doing, I have found that:

Type of item first listed doesn't matter.
Age of account doesn't matter.
Phone number doesn't matter (as long as it isn't a VOIP one) to an extent.
Details such as address and name doesn't matter.
IP is iffy as I had success with VPNs on mobile device and mobile IPs than I do using desktop.

I have some concerns about requirements for the OS installed. Will try from some newer device.

A high quality number and IP address is the most important.

It is all very good. No VPN, no virtual numbers.

As I recall from previous years the banning wave can last until February

But now we are in unchartered waters, and hard to see whether the suspensions are related to a banning wave or something else.

I don't eBay can detect ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name/DOB, you need to use real address and active phone number

I have created 2 more selling accounts since this post. All is working fine. Get a high quality phone number and mobile hotspot that’s it

Anyone still facing issues with accounts getting hit first listing? I seem to be encountering them lately with "Reactivate your eBay account."

Nearly last 20 accounts created get hit with them. All created on mobile devices using mobile IPs.

Anyone have luck with google fi mobile Ips? Starting to think they are causing the issue.

If you are using the eBay app it stores cookies. So all accounts are probably linked even though you change the IP every time.

Use Top Providers like Verizon, AT&T, T mobile and sprint! Use mobile browser or eBay app to create the account. You can manage it later on a pc. Pc success rate with creating seller account is much lower than mobile.

Disagree with this though. And eb app not really favourable for multiple stealth accounts

The app and mobile browser works great for me. Only for creating though. Managing them I use PC. Creating seller account on pc is like Russian roulette for me. I’m pretty sure eBay links it with the mobile device but they usually need more evidence than just the device link to suspend accounts. When one of my accounts go down it’s only 1 at a time.

It's kind of discouraging reading all this about creating new accounts. Thankfully, I have a ton of old accounts that I just stopped selling on but had high selling limits. So if need be, I just go activate them through MP and start selling with a low-risk item. I had 2 accounts get suspended from "violating eBay policy" or something like that because I started them off with selling higher risk items. But since then, when I have activated a MP account I test the waters with junk, complete a sale, then go on listing as normal. But sheesh... creating new accounts sounds a whole lot tougher than it was when I was creating accounts 5-7 years ago. Good luck and keep us updated on anything you discover.

using the ebay app has been frowned against.

It tracks you in so many different ways and it's definitely not worth using
