Action needed: More info required to release your payouts

As of Jan 1, 2022, the IRS now requires us to file and send a Form 1099-K to everyone who sells $600 or more.

Since you’ve made $600 or more in sales this year, we’ll need your full 9-digit Social Security number (SSN) or Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN) to send you your 1099-K.

Please update your information so we can start sending your payouts and avoid other account restrictions.

Who else has gotten this message? I'm guessing it's because this account hit $600 in sales. So, they're gonna require our full SSN on all accounts? Wonder what this will mean for us... Here is the message body-

I got the same message. They also accept EIN for business accounts as an alternative

Yes they need full SSN number and you’re good. If it’s a bogus ssn eBay will then ask you to upload a W9 form. Goodluck

So, they aren't gonna care about multiple accounts with the same ssn?

It's been reported on other threads that you can have up to 5 accounts with the same info.

Hmm. Haven't seen that. Ebay now allows people to have 5 accounts or is that just people's findings through trial and error?

I mean you can have 5 accounts but if one goes down they will all fail

eBay has ALWAYS allowed multiple accounts per person.

Yes you can but the goal is to not get accounts linked.. eBay will suspend you for anything. And to have all your accounts linked that’s not good
