Anybody know why Australian Mp auto verify license but need manual for passport?
 

So I have tried this a few times, all with my own and family members ID so 100% legit.

If I make a new account and enter my license number dob etc it automatically verifies it and lets you get payouts etc.
When I do it using a passport it always asks to upload a scan, then after that it passes and can receive payout.

I now understand why my mate in the AU always uses Driver licenses over passports because of this reason.

So how do they verify the passport? when you say you upload the scanned copy passport, do they verify its legit using a 3rd party verification system or just look at it and let you pass even if its c@ke?

they might be using automated systems to verify it, otherwise if they'll go to checking manually it would take ages for the accounts to get verified.

They verify the scanned copy, I tried a few Photoshop passports which get verified initially, 2 or 3 days later "we noticed inconsistency with your information" and ban

Is there perhaps a small passport feature that should always be present when scanned?

I had all the information correct, dob, passport number, name even expiry. Except all those numbers at the bottom. Some of them are easy to figure out such as dob, expiry date. But some others seem more random. They must verify this too.

I am not sure how other passports look but Aus passport has some stuff at the bottom. If you type sample Australian passport in Google images you will see

Apparently the number at the bottom is generated by some type of math equation.

That number on the bottom is called the MRZ - Machine Readable Zone.

You can use a free auto generator if you search on google, enter in all the necessary credentials and it gives you this number, which you can easily modify on your scan...

But, I haven't got the time now to try it to see if it passes verification, can someone try and get back to us?

Thanx, this is very interesting. I will try it next time I need to verify a account but won't be anytime soon unfortunately. From reading about it seems like it is something they would scan

Certainly is like that for all kinds of govt. issued ID
