Is EIN a possible replacement for SSN for US accounts?

I have spent HOURS reading the forums here, everything I know happens to be from this site once I found it; much more consistent than millions of different YouTube videos and YouTube people... this happens to be one of the few sites that aren't blocked at work.

From my reading (and what I understand to be the latest most updated info) for US accounts using managed payments, is there ANY way to not use my SS#? If I create a new LLC and get an EIN number, will I still be forced to put my SS# in there somewhere at some point?

I have a SS#, but absolutely don't want to use it for certain reasons (whatever they are, assume putting it on Ebay isn't an option) but as an LLC, I'd have the EIN, could pay taxes, send funds to my business banking account, etc... I have my SS# on all my other stuff, but assume Ebay is not an option.

From the 2024 current rules, is there a point where I'd absolutely have to put my SS# on my seller account? Or not if I have incredible customer service, no issues, and my account just grows and updates and lifts limits on it's own where nothing is ever under review?

Thank you for the input on the current situation.

It is possible as companies do sell on Ebay,eg BBY and Clark shoes, they do not have SSN.

I tried to do the same thing, it worked at first (putting EIN in as SSN), but eventually they paused payments until i fixed it. That was the only "patch work around", I don't think its possible to not put in a SSN at least for new accounts.

is your bank account a business account?
is the address residential or business?
is your credit/debit card in a person name?

You must always add SSN number, for personal accounts.
For business accounts you must add EIN number, it is best to have the EIN document ready if you require it.
I passed a secret from personal to business and I only did that, obviously I entered other company information... and I had to make an EIN and send it for review

In one of my stealth accounts I placed a random EIN number and for a year it has worked very well, I have not had any problems.
Of course, if the account is in your name, it is better to use your real data.
but the stealth account will always be a good option

yes, payment management, sold a little more than 6k (stealth account)
but the ideal is to find Latin American accounts.
With those accounts you have no problems with taxes.
You can sell 10 to 20 k per year in each Latin account, the only thing is that you need Payoneer for payment management
