I read somewhere that with managed payments uk you are not allowed to use a savings account

Is that when you are logging in thru trusty? or does it not work either when you don't log in through trusty, and just add the account number and sort code?

Yes this is correct you can not use any savings account bro. Must be a bank that can accept direct debit. You can login using trustly but your name on eBay must match the name on your bank.

This is an old thread but i have used savings accnt before depends on bank
