Forced to use eBay shipping label, option to enter own tracking number gone
 

As the title states in Australia a new system is rolling in where we are forced to purchase a ebay label and can no longer enter own tracking number.

I prefer to use my own shipping rather then buying labels directly through ebay, does anybody know a way to still enter own tracking number?

look at exceptions , uk has had this for quite a while

they will be forced to give exceptions for certain categories and items plus private sellers are likely to be more affected than business sellers

I checked this , what I thought exceptions for certain small items plus ability to avoid it if you upgrade to business

yes I also found this, setting shipping as freight seems to be the only way.

I made two sales already posted the items with my own postage and unfortunately they both sitting there as unsent, no way to add tracking and only option is to purchase a label through ebay.
Well ill see what happens the payouts already went through so I got paid.

I guess my rating will get downgraded but thats ok I have other accounts so this one will be a trial.

Hopefully after I get positive feedback the system will see that as transaction is ok

You just choose the ebay label and then as long as the label isnt scanned at a post office etc then the postage is refunded, you can put in the notes your own tracking number.
The item is then marked as despatched.
When you list an item you need to uncheck the ebay postage option so you dont get it going forward.

If you convert your private account to business account you have the option.

If your at the start of building a stealth account keep using the eBay labels, it's deemed as more trustworthy and you will get paid out faster using their labels.

On my personal account, ebay hides the house number on the address label so i couldn't use a third party label. I had to use the ebay label to show the number. My business account is ok.

Is this Ebay way of making sure you are the shipper??

I changed my listings to freight, it seems like nobody is buying. When you click on a freight listing it says to message the seller and ask for a manual invoice.

It seems everything is designed to push the seller to purchase the label through ebay, not sure what they get out of it. Means they have a corporate account with the shipping company, so if they get any bonuses or discounts who knows.

I don't think so, I think it's just a more efficient/reliable way for them to simply supply mostly new sellers with shipping labels, as noobs may make a mistake or not know how to organise shipping properly, they prefer it to be streamlined.

I see nothing wrong using their labels personally, and it builds trust with them so long as you dispatch asap

Ebay buyers are very aware of shipping cost,freight equates high cost.
what is wrong with printing your label on Ebay?

here in Australia ebay offers labels through the postal company, there is cheaper alternatives

I think it may have something to do with privacy and data-protection, they trust business sellers more, LOL. They told me on chat, that they accept my own labels on items £20 or under, or if the weight and dimension is out of there criteria range for parcels. I tried it on a small item under £10 and the house number was still hidden, for me anyway. :doh:

This is also as standard in the UK for private sellers.

The only workaround I know is switching to a business account, then you can use your own shipping / untracked / mark as paid & dispatched as you wish.
