It can often feel like we are living in a simulation, and today that feeling has been reaffirmed once again, as another food-fashion collab story continues.
For its SS20 collection, announced on Monday (February 17), Supreme partnered up with sandwich cookie brand Oreo. The red and white version of the famous American biscuit is embossed with the Supreme logo – and it’s double-stuffed, of course. But if you managed to cop, what we’re wondering is – are those Oreos going on some special Supreme shrine display, or are they the ultimate hypebeast snack?
Well, the answer seems to be neither of those options – which we should have none, given the intensity resell culture – with a number of the bespoke Oreos now selling on eBay for up $17,000.
Launched on Thursday at the New York and Soho Supreme stores, it really didn’t take those hungry hypebeasts long to get the **EXTREMELY RARE** (as worded by eBay one user) snacks online. And with the biscuits originally retailing for $8, it seems many are set to make a pretty sweet profit.
Although this seems pretty typical for Supreme, with its weird, wonderful, and often all too unnecessary accessories quickly becoming coveted items, the thought that someone would be willing to drop a salary on a pack of bickies does make it feel like we are experiencing some sort of glitch in the matrix. That better be the best damn cookie you ever cop.
