eBay Responds to Layoff Report

Valleywag said that an eBay employee believed the company was planning to cut the lowest-performing five percent of staff, but said that an eBay spokesman told it the layoffs should be "small" in scale.

A company spokesperson responded in an email to AuctionBytes.com, "On September 21 we announced that we were evolving our Marketplaces organization to continue driving progress and innovation on behalf of our sellers and buyers. In line with the reorganization changes we announced, we expect to make small staff adjustments designed to build a quicker, more streamlined organization. Specifically we're creating a combined global product and technology team that will allow us to innovate more rapidly, deliver the tech stack and create a better end-to-end customer experience."

AuctionBytes reported the September announcement in which eBay revealed that its head of global product and North America Stephanie Tilenius would be leaving the company

eBay also recently announced it was laying off 40 percent of its workforce in Germany, and it laid off 700 workers in Vancouver, Canada, effective last month. eBay cut 10 percent of its global workforce late last year.

like i said its only a matter of time when one of the laid off workers joins us here to talk about how to bend ebay over...
they used the sellers to make ebay what it is now and than cut them.... now they are doing it with there staff??? they are just burrying there own grave...
