While eating lunch on January 20, 2014, I received a text message from PayPal for one-time validation code. Somebody was trying to steal my PayPal account. I ignored it and continued eating.

For someone who has had constant problems with someone trying to steal his @n account he sure takes security lightly.

the second i get an email like that i log into the account and see what it is all about. you wait and you lose as in this case.

what i really learn from this is if you have twitter have separate email address for this purchase only and linked to nothing else.

He thought the text was a ⊗⊗⊗⊗, not from actual Paypal.

He took no affirmative action to confirm his poor train of thought.

He lost his own account because he neglected to check his security.

This part was a little bothersome from the article:
Sadly a lot of Companies don't train their employees enough. Social Engineering is the most basic hack and sometimes the easiest way to get information. In the past I use to dable in hacking and Social Engineering was usually the easiest way to get what I wanted.

Yes, because scanning your computer is going to make all the difference to someone calling up pretending to be you.
