Shipping to Russia

I have had serious issues shipping to Russia over the last few years.

I ended up blocking the country completely.

Using Fedex and DHL primarily.

The announcement on EBay UK could be very welcome news if true.

"Hello,

You may have seen reports about new customs documentation requirements, causing disruptions to deliveries to Russia from private carriers such as FedEx and DHL. Fortunately, those regulations have now been suspended, and deliveries to Russia will resume under the previous requirements.

This is great news, as Russia remains an important market for sellers who want to expand their business globally. According to a recent eMarketer study, Russian commerce is expected to grow 17% in 2014*. Now is a great time to begin offering delivery to Russian buyers.

For questions regarding this earlier disruption, we encourage you to contact your carriers directly.

Regards

The eBay Team"

Re: Shipping to Russia

If you have had "serious issues" with Russia then dont ship to that country. Only times I ever shipped to Russia, about 4-5 times, it took about a month to get there but it got there. I just dont want to risk my accounts for shipping time.

Some people will understand about the shipping time but some dont. And it's the ones who dont understand who will give you the most problems for your accounts.

But you have to figure out if the good options out-way the bad ones.

For example-For some reason, shipping to Aussie land takes so long with USPS 1st class mail. I try to tell them ship with Priority or express mail but 90% of people dont want to pay triple the cost of shipping to get the items faster than 3 weeks. So I dont ship there.

There have been issues with shipping times to Russia for the last few months. Large delays.

It is a very big market place for certain items though, so anything that opens it up more is welcome.

International DSR scores don't count towards USA scores, discounts, etc...
That would be global and will not effect your USA standards in any way.

Russian Federation is one of the countries I avoid. It is only select items but out of the US I ship to Australia, Canada, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxomberg, Germany and the 4 Scandinavian countries. My experience goes back about 8 years shipping internationally. Except for Canada, Australia which I have an occasional problem. These other countries I have never had a problem with.

Such a messy country to get involved with. Wouldn't even waste my time, not that my goods would even work there to be honest

OP is UK based.....

Russian deals requires a lot of patience and communications with buyers.
Never for the faint hearted.

Re: Shipping to Russia

do not use a domestic carrier eg USPS as it then hands over to the russian postal service, and hard to track, get dhl or fedex etc so they are to blame and handle it right to delivery. Most buyers been ok but had a higher proportion of stuff not received.....
