Ebay Winter Seller Update (I hope it's a joke)

There we go. no idea if it's a joke or not?
--------------------------------------
Article found google it:

Now that we have "FIXED" the after-sales experience for all buyers and sellers on the site we are proud to introduce this "fix" for the before-sales experience. As part of this update sellers will no longer have to worry about setting their prices. After you list an item on ebay.com we will periodically check all other sites that might sell the same or similar products, we will then without your knowledge or input reset the price to be at least 10% lower than any other site selling a similar product.

In addition to the above change the Best Offer feature will no longer be optional for domestic small sellers starting January 1st. We will also be renaming "Best Offer" to "Request a Price" if the buyer requests a price and you do not accept it, we will allow the buyer to open a case with the new option "Seller is charging more than I'm willing to pay". This will result in a case being opened up against the seller which thanks to our new defect system will result in a defect because the buyer did not have a positive before-sales experience. We will then decide the case in the buyer's favor fairly and decide what price you will sell the item for.

------------------------------------------------------------------
Well time to buy a domain name at weebly.com and put a picture of a BIG flat screen TV for like $50 that cost $4,000 and say "hey ebay WTF?" I swear. They will have people comparing prices from Aliexpress and Alibaba probably. This is so bad. Sellers are dropping like flies, watch!

It was meant as a joke, someone being facetious because of all of the hoops eBay is making the sellers jump through...

A HUGE problem with the 6-month returns is, since completed eBay auction listings only remain in eBay's cache for a finite period, how do you as a seller prove what was or was not stated or shown in the listing 6 months after the fact when someone files a dispute?

I'm sure that will be updated to go along with the new terms.

They have added this because people have 6 months to make a chargeback on there credit cards anyway, and have been doing so

Re: Ebay Winter Seller Update (I hope it's a joke)

I really think this is going to be abused to the Max. I really feel bad for all of you guys. I am thinking of going directly with amazon lately more and more.

This really sucks. And I know their system only shows items the last 3 months in their system? I hope this will also be updated but then again eb/pp favor the buyer. I noticed that tracking info, signature, proof of Delivery, etc. means nothing.

What really pisses me off is let's say like most of you sell the same item over and over right? Let's say you got an auction and you have sold 200 example, one buyer buys and claims items is not as des. It's like you sold 200 of these and 1 buyer can mess all of this up.

Thank god in 14 months I quit this online sales. I just see it going down the drain and not to mention traffic lately has died out a bit also.

And tracking info from USPS? That doesn't last 6 months. What's to stop someone from 6 months from now claiming their product never arrived?
