My Suspension Story
 

Hello everyone.

I came across this board yesterday and decided to join.

My story goes like this:

I started casually selling on ebay around January. In the first 3 months I was off to a decent start with 71 positive feedback and 4.5 star ratings.

Around 2 weeks ago I sold a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ designer necklace to a customer. A very stupid move I regret doing. She knew it was ⊗⊗⊗⊗ and anyone familiar with this brand would know that any necklace from this brand would cost thousands of dollars - not $200. She broke the necklace herself during the week she had it and wanted me to send her a replacement or a refund. I refused (as I did not want to be $200 out of pocket because the dumb dumb broke it herself) and the next morning I open my emails to see all my listings canceled, an ebay suspension and a lovely PayPal dispute claiming 'item was not as described'.

Obviously I knew there was no help in hell my account would be reinstated as ebay would eventually realise the necklace was ⊗⊗⊗⊗ and I could say goodbye to the $90 in my PayPal account.

My account went from being 'Blocked until I resolve this issue' to 'Indefinitely Suspended'.

All would be fine if I didn't have thousands of inventory left to sell.

And my poor customers were freaking out thinking they would not receive their items. Happy they emailed me directly to find out what was going on.

Last night I did the following to be on my way to a new seller account:

*Change my IP address
*Clear my cookies & saved passwords
*Signed up to a new Gmail account
*Signed up to ebay using my boyfriends address
*Used my parents phone number

Now I just need to get a new bank account & a prepaid credit card and I will hopefully be able to sell again!

Cleo, Welcome to the forum. You have the basics there BUT you tripped yourself up as you
said.;) Make a great investment and buy the eBay Stealth book.:D It gives you the nitty gritty of being successful. :DHave a break from the shock of being suspended and check the forum

How did you get suspended so fast? I violated ebay policy 10-15 times before it got suspended. 1 customer bitching won't get you suspended.

10-15? Wow! I think I had only about 5 violations at the most? Plus this whole necklace fiasco and that was all it took for me to get suspended.

Ebay is really on the defense these days. I've noticed several sellers I used to track are mysteriously (not registered anymore). I think they're are really clamping down. 1 violation and you are gone...or in some cases...no violations and your account is deemed high risk.

Well in my case it was categorization policy violation, like 15 times on each of my 2 accounts, as in they pulled it. My newer account got killed by ebay without warning while my old 2002 account got temp suspended for 1 day, then 3 days.

what happens when everyone is suspended? I guess I am missing the point as to why ebay does this... especialy on LONG time sellers with NO PROBLEMS.

why does the phone company make you wait on the phone for an hour on hold listening to sales pitches? because they can. why do you stand in line at the BMV just to get a number so that you can sit and wait some more? I'm just kidding, it's the big broken beaurocratic (sp?) company nonsense. I would roll on the floor laughing all day if some tech employee who got a listing removed by his own company for bullhonkey went postal and made it so EVERYONE with an account was suspended lmao

i must say, i do wonder when some poor soul will go wacko on ebay. folks are stretched thin these days.won`t be me as i as i am too worn down.

Why trade ⊗⊗⊗⊗ then brag about it? Do people such as yourself even advertise the item as a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ or copy??
